we are doing some work in are basement, puting up drywall. i needed something that would clean up without making alot of dust. i bought another shop vac at walmart about the same price, smaller motor and tank. it didn't do the job, the hose was smaller and would get clogged. so i took it back. i didn't... review »

If all you need to vacuum is sawdust and general cleaning, then it's alright. If your sawdust has nails or heavy chips of wood you will have to empty the hose periodically because it does'nt have enough suction to get it to the container. I used it with a smaller diameter hose and it did substantially... review »

Works very well for woodworking clean up and fireplace ash. Only suggestion is something to catch nails/screws that if catch together in the coorogated tubing block the suction and require being manipulated out the way they came. Other than that... works well.

I got this wet/dry van on sale for $35. I have starting doing some small woodworking projects and building in my basement. I always would dread the clean up because first I had to push broom my work area THEN use my dad's 100 year old (a little bit of an exageration) shop-vac to clean it up. It simply does not have the power to clean up the saw dust. The old Shop-Vac well served its time, sucked up hundreds of gallons of water, and lasted many years but it is simply getting worn out. What really drew me to this modle besides price, was the 2 1/2" hose... I really wanted something a little bigger... review »

I bought this one 8 months ago and have not burnt it out yet. I go through a shop vac about once a year and abuse them. I chose this one because it is easy enough to fit in the car but seemed to have enough power. It replaced a 12 gallon 5 hp rigid. The size is better for dry and small wet pickup and it is lighter and less clumbsy. I do miss the 5hp and the drain option. It is less noisy but the wheels have had a hard time staying on until I applied liquid nails. Perfect for homeowners, frequent shop/task use and for those who need it to fit in their car. If I did it again I would buy the... review »

I've owned this vacuum for about 4 years. I used it sparingly over the years and I always used the high filtration bags. Regardless, the motor does not use bearings, but cheap bushings that wore out (telltale sign was the motor became very noisy and the rpm dropped). The bushings cannot be individually replaced, and the replacement cost of the motor costs more than the vacuum itself. I also own a 10+ year old Shop-Vac that still works great, but it's too small. I'm going to try a Shop-Vac next time around. I'm sadly disappointed in the quality/durability of this Craftsman shop vacuum along with... review »

Have had it for a year now with no problems. Strong enough for handy man-ing around the house. Picks up dust, nails, loose dirt, concrete bits, etc. with no problem. The stock filter is quite good for dust and cleans off by just banging it inside the trash can. Hose is big enough without being unwieldy. Great size for toting around the house. Had a similar Shop Vac burn out on me. Plus the Shop Vac filter was a worthless open cell foam that let all the dust go through. It lacks a good way of storing the cord on the unit. It would also be nice to be able to redirect or diffuse the exhaust. Definitely... review »

I had an old Craftsman 5 gal shop vac that finally gave out after 20+ years of faithful service, so I replaced it with this model -- perfect for the small jobs around my house. I live in New Jersey and the recent torrential rains flooded my basement with an inch of water (not as bad as a lot of others) that I attacked with the new vac. Although it needed frequent emptying because of its size, this thing really cranked and got me to ''damp" very quickly so the dehumidifier could finish the job. I recommend it to anyone who has a periodic need for this equipment.

I gave this as a gift for my husband, and he loves it! It is the perfect size for our cozy apartment, and is easy to bring to and from our garage for storage. I was worried it might be too small, but I was wrong. With a toddler in the house, this shop vac is a lifesaver-it gets all the cheerios and broken crayons out from under the couch, and cleans so much more. I trust Craftsman because it's what my Father always bought, and I am always amazed at the quality and value of each new tool or machine I bring home. We are a happy Craftsman family!

Our washing machine drains into a utility sink, which i inadvertently plugged before starting the washer, flooding the entire laundry room with 2 inches of water. I thought for sure I was in for hours of wet vac-ing, so i took off for lunch at 11:30, ran to Sears, got my wet/dry vac & got to work. It's 12:42, and I have finished, eaten lunch, and am back at work! Wowzers - and all before my husband gets home to wonder how I managed to singlehandedly flood the(newly waterproofed!) basement.

I WANTED ONE FOR A LONG TIME. MY CRAWL SPACE GOT WATER IN IT AND I GOT THIS WET VAC TO SUCK IT UP. IT WORKED GREAT AND DID A GOOD JOB. I LIKE THE FEATURE THAT LETS YOU BLOW WITH IT. ONLY USED IT ONCE SO FAR BUT I AM VERY PLEASED. I ORDERED IT ON LINE IN THE MORNING AND GOT AN EMAIL THE SAME DAY TO PICK IT UP AT THE STORE. GOOD SERVICE SEARS. GOOD PRICE TOO. DID NOT COME WITH CAR, CREVICE AND FLOOR NOZZLE BUT SEARS HAVE THEM PRICED RIGHT IF YOU WANT THEM.

*Power...Great! Quality...Guaranteed! I bought an extra hose and a creavice tool and snaked it down the vents because the previous owners had harry dogs. When I opened the container to see my horrible treasures, I realized nothing could be left in the ducts! Could have bought the next one up for the same amount as the vac and extras but I liked the size and power. *DISCLAIMER: This little guy will take your arms off.

Just purchased and realized there was one accessory missing. The crevice tool. Find it hard to believe that you can sell a wet/vac without a crevice tool. I can do without the others, but this one I can not. So, if you want this vac & need this tool, add $7.99 to the price of the wet/vac. Otherwise, seems to be a quality product. Good suction, quiet, not to bulky and should meet/exceed the needs of most people.

It's amazing the uses you find for a wet/dry vac when you get one. We needed to clean out the car before a long trip, so we purchased this and the car-cleaning kit. Before you knew it, the car was clean. After we got back, I decided to just suck out the (cold) ashes from my fireplace. Cleaned out the fireplace way faster than usual! This vac is sufficient for most household duties, and the price cannot be beat!
