This saw is perfect for the weekend/occasional remodeler. It's simple to put together, a snap to use and easy to store. Unless you tile professionally, this is all the saw you'll ever need for your home tiling projects. I have in the past marked my tile pieces and schlepped them back to the store... read full review »

Most Helpful Critical Review

As several others here experienced, the rip fence clip broke immediately when I try to put it on.  Wonderful out of the box experience, no.

This was my first time cutting ceramic tile and though I thought it would take ages to cut this stuff, the saw worked great, though yes a bit wet and messy, glad...

Great power, durable. Very portable and easy to handle. Easy to clean. I wish they had it bigger to cut 20" tiles, overall is a great buy.

Several reviewers mentioned that this saw had a flimsy fence that broke almost at once. However I so far have not had a problem with this. As long as you make sure the teeth on each end are ingaged it will lock right into place with no problems. I can see how if someone tried to strongarm it it could snap though. We made dozens of adjustment to the fence and had zero problems. I also did not experience the gushing water some said to expect. Turn it on and run it for a few seconds after filling to allow it to shed excess water and after that no problems. You do get a light mist with the guard...

Works good.

Not a bad price, but kind of flimsy made. To much plastic. Needs to be stronger made and a little more motor. But it did get the job done that I was working on. Good for a hobbyist.

Purchased this saw to tile my sunroom. It handled so well we have now also tiled a bathroom and have plans to tile the kitchen at the end of the month. I must add that the tile designs I do require me to cut every peice of tile and it has handled great. Highly recommend for the weekend do-it-yoursef warrior! You will get your money's worth.

Excellent saw for the $

We read all the reviews and bought the extended warranty for $12 to get replacement fences, if needed. It was $42 a day to rent a wet saw at a local box store so we decided to just buy one! We were very careful with the rip fence. It has to "click" in to the cut slots on the edge before pushing the plastic "lock" down. We tiled a 35" x 24 foot hallway with cut 12 x 12 tiles down both sides PLUS 18 special cut pieces for the doorways plus cutting 2 x 2 decorative tiles and we had no problem. We were surprised how easily it cut the tile! (A hint for newbies like us - when your small tiles are on... read full review »

Rip Fence issue

Bought this saw because I value the Craftsman badge--also had read the previous reviews. So when it came time to install the rip fence I was aware of the issue of it breaking. Well I didn't even get the first side clipped in and it broke on me. Plastic clipping on plastic breaking??? Go figure. I clamped the rip guard on using some framing clamps and it works great, probably even holds better then the cheap plastic. For the price of this saw you can't beat it though-it beats renting at $50 a day and rushing. I'll keep the saw and use the extending warranty to get Craftsman to keep up with their... read full review »

7" tile wet saw

Agree with other postings --- good value for the money paid but the biggest problem was that the fence broke when I was installing it. The clip broke first time putting it on (and I was NOT rough with it). Agree with other posts regarding getting wet - need to be careful with water level and guard placement.

I purchased this saw in lieu of renting a professional grade tile saw at ~$40 per day.  I have had some building construction experience, but had never tiled before.  I tiled 140+ square feet of 12" ceramic tile and was impressed at how well the saw worked.  Each cut was smooth and clean, and even though the spray guard seemed a bit flimsy and caught the tile a bit, it still worked well.  I did try the rip fence once, but found that it was difficult to attach, and since other reviews indicated that it broke easy, I forgoed it's use and free-handed everything else.  I just needed a steady...

perfect size

This is a great wet tile saw for inhome repair projects. No need to hire a tile guy if you own this very portable and easy to use tile saw.

Good Saw for the money

Ok so I am helping a friend put a bathroom in his basement. The floor is 12" ceramic tile and the walls are tiled up to 4'. The wall tiles are 6" x 6". I needed a saw because there were many cuts. We had rented one to do the the floor the one we rented was a commercial type saw. It worked ok but what a mess it made spuing water everywhere. I saw this one on line at Sears and figured what the heck for $79.00 I would take a chance. So off I went to Sears with a gift card I got for Christmas. Today I used it and I must disagree with others that say you have to keep refiling it with water. I cut 23... read full review »

You Get What You Pay For

At $99, I don't expect much. I know the motor will be average at best, the blade won't last long, bigger tiles will be akward, etc.. But, what I do expect is that the fence stays in place. After about 5 cuts on some larger tiles on the first day out of the box, the fence won't connect anymore. Essentially, it is a plastic fence with clips that hook underneath the metal strip with the imprinted ruler. Normally, this is fine, but now the fence won't clip on anymore. For the life of me, I can't figure out what is wrong ? So, should I be upset ? No, probably not. I'll keep this as a backup saw for... read full review »

No worries - purchase this one

I read the other reviews - pretty much right on, except for the "getting wet" - put the guard down, no problems. The miter guide and straight edge are plastic ... no good for large tiles, but this saw is very easy to operate free hand. Recommend starting your cut on one side, then finish from the other to prevent chipping the corners of your cuts (unless you have perfect pressure pushing on either side through the cut). Best value for a wet tile saw - buy this and save the rental cost and rush!
