I purchased this machine along with a Craftsman LT2000 mower. I am pleased with their tandem performance. As indicated by others, the assembly on the Yard Vac will take a good 4-5 hours if you are taking your time and expect to get good results. Assembly reaches a standstill once you get to the cover which is shown from an outside view for assembly. In reality, the only way you can actually assemble it is to come at it from underneath if you hope to make heads or tails of it. Once you reach this point, the directions are not helpful and you have to rely on common sense and a few of the pictures. Also, I ended up using a jigsaw to cut the deck adapter and it worked pretty well. Again, start small and adjust. It make take several attempts to dial it in. I mow about 3/4 acre with mature trees (mainly oaks, a few poplars, maples, and a bakers dozen pine trees) This unit picked up everything, even the pine needles (you may have to take it slow to pick up most of the needles) Plenty of power and along with actually mowing your grass, this is a composter's dream! It does a great job of shredding the material, the motor is plenty powerful. The capacity is great and the dump feature is helpful. This thing is LOUD, but effective. Ear protection is a must. Don't forget to engage your deck while you are using or you will just be mowing the deadfall, not collecting it. I have used this twice and the heavy leaves are yet to come. Of course, the turning radius of your mower is significantly limited with the monster attached. I noticed that the deck adapter and the bottom of the deck hose got clogged when I went through heavy, somewhat moist maple/poplar leaves. Just have to keep an eye on it I guess. Also, the cover captures shredded material in-between the folded arms once it is in the up (dumping) position. You have to clean the sides out by hand. (Wear a mask) Overall I am very pleased with the performance and I hope it continues to function without any problems. The quality of the materials (cover, wheels, bed) are less than industrial considering the price. They seem to be sufficient for a full load, just don't feel the bang for my buck on this one. I guess you have to weigh in on quality of life. What a backsaver!
