I've only used it a few times and it works good. I wish it came with a hard case.
It's been a decade or so since I last used a sawzall and I remember them being crude and buzzy in the hand. This little Sears saw is very smooth and easy to handle. I can't imagine a situation where I'd need more power - the most important factor with these saws is to use the correct blade for the job. This is a great little tool, especially if you can catch it on sale!
I don't understand the negative reviews of Craftsman power tools. Every single one I've bought over the last 25 years is still working great. I can't say that about some other brands.
This particular unit is very ideal for sawing different metals.
It does a very good job, and it has the power to do what you
want to do. I haven't used it too much yet, but I will be
later in 2009. I mainly use these saws for metal work, and
not much for wood. I would highly reccomend this saw.
i bought this saw to do demo but first i had to demo the terrible soft carring case i could not unzip the case at all. power is no issue it cuts through everything i put in front of it and if its cutting to slow than change the blade.Also it would have been nice if the the soft carrying bag was seprate so i could use the saw to open it
After both renting a more expensive model and borrowing a battery powered model, I chose this one to own. It it rugged, easy to use and even has a handy carrying bag. Since it's a smaller size motor, it does take a little longer to cut through big jobs, but a sacrifice worth making for the price.
I bought this for a variety of houshold uses and it has worked fine. It was well priced and hasn't let me down yet.
I have cut wood, steel and siding with it and no problems. Came with a handy bag and a couple of blades. I bought more blades, but otherwise everything is great.
Had this recip for about 2 years now, is one of the many Craftsman tools that I own. Performs great, never had any issues, Also have a Dewalt recip. Cutting performance is very simiar, yet this one was 1/3 the price of my Dewalt. Thanks again Craftsman, keep up the good work.
