bad charger

i bought this drill and knoticed right away that the batteries and charger did not work. replaced and got a new one. and same problem. drill work's great. has lot's of nice features and is lightweight and durabel... how ever you can't use it with bad batteries and charger.

Nice Drill.

I'm a drummer. I like to keep my drums in an excelent soundning, and working, condition. This drill is great for getting into hard to reach places. I like the low power setting on this drill. It is important when working with my drums that I DO NOT over tighten. This drill is powerfull enough to do the work I need, and not powerfull to ruin my expensive equipment. I would recomend this drill to musicians first off, and It makes a great Indoor, household drill too.

I purchased this after my main drill (Professional DeWalt) was stolen and I didnt use it enough to justify the replacement cost... but unfortunately I think I went a little too low with this drill.

If you want to do basic drilling and placement os screws I think you'll be fine with this... I needed to do some hole-drilling (with hole-drill bits) and it completely fails at that that. Fails to the point that I think I'll need to buy another drill to do the job. :/

Bottom line - this is a great all-around-the-home drill for doing basic chores and whatnot... but if you ever get outside that realm at...

Type of chuck needs changed.

The jaws in the chuck have too wide & flat (smooth) facing and will not grip drill bits well, they work loose too fast/easy. Most chucks now have a narrow rib to grip the bit, or have 3 narrow ribs per jaw (total of 9 ribs per chuck) to grip the bit. The rest of the drill motor is fine.

Craftsman 3/8 in. Cordless drill is powered by a 9.6 volt battery and provides 0-600 rpm (no-load) of speed for drilling/driving. Variable speed motor allows you to match drilling/driving speed to the correct bit for materials you are using, allowing you to use this drill for a variety of jobs. Increase the pressure on the trigger switch for higher speeds, decrease the pressure for lower speeds. Reverse to remove fasteners. Features 24 different torque settings, which is ideal for drilling and driving different types of screws into different types of materials. A 3/8 in. Keyless chuck allows you to hand-tighten or loosen and release accessory bits in the chuck jaws without a chuck key. LED light illuminates the work area and built-in bubble level provides for more accurate drilling and driving. Forward/Reverse switch is located above and to the rear of the trigger switch. Embossed arrows show bit rotation. Push switch completely to left or right for desired rotation. Push switch to center position to lock power off. The Power Lock-off position helps reduce the possibility of accidental starting when the drill/driver is not in use or when changing bits. Electric brake stops the bit rotation as soon as the trigger switch is released which is ideal when driving screws. The ergonomic t-handle includes molded-in comfort grip which provides maximum control, added balance and gripping comfort. Accessories include: 2 double ended bits, 1- 9.6V battery and 1 charger.
