I bought this bagger for my new PYT 24hp 42" tractor.  The 46 inch width does not interfere with close work except for one sign post in the yard.  I just stay back a bit and use the weed trimmer.  I'm happy I decided to go with the 3-bag unit.  The stock blades that came with the tractor provide...

If I had rated this a year ago...

If I had rated this a year ago, after using the bagger for a month or so, I probably would have rated it as 4 stars. After having used it for a year I can only give this product 1 star. My first hint should have been when I had to have it delivered 3 times as the first two came with cracked tops. The... read full review »

GREAT BAGGER FOR THE MONEY DON'T CLOG UP EASY TO REMOVE WHEN NOT NEEDED.THE BAGS ARE PRETTY STRONG AND SHOULD HOLD UP FOR A GOOD NUMBER OF YEARS.EASY TO INSTALL BY ANYONE GREAT REPLACEMENT FOR A OLDER BAGER SYSTEM.

We were very pleased with this product. It was easy to install and easier to use. It only took us 15 minutes to install and all we needed was a 9/16ths wrench. Removing the original bolts from the mower and putting in the shoulder bolts was kind of a tight squeeze between the bolts and the rear tires, so my ratchet didn't work, but a flat wrench worked just fine. The primary reason we purchased this bagger was to pick up leaves since our house is completely surrounded by maples and oaks. The biggest challenge was knowing when to empty the bags, which really was dependent upon how many leaves... read full review »

Best money I ever spent.  I had read the reviews before I purchased and was a little worried about the bags not all filling so I wasn't surprised when it happened.  However, I found the solution.  Let the bagger fill and keep mowing so the leaves are muclched.  Once the yard is done empty the bagger and go back over the yard.  The mulched leaves pack evenly and allow you to fill the entire compartment.  You'll make less trips dumping the bags and get at least 12 bushels each haul because everything packs so well.

Great bagger

Very quick and easy to assemble. I just got done mowing for the first time this season. My yard had some leaves left over from last fall. The leaves and grass clippings fell nicely into the bins. As described, the left most bin fills first, then the middle, and finally the right most bin fills last. Extremely easy to remove the bags and empty them!

Nice but not Perfect

Second bagger unit I have owned. Upside: (1) 3 bags and third bag is gettig filled. (2) Has not clogged on me yet. Downside: (1) Frame attachment came with hitch pin welded to bottom of frame, which then goes through tractor frame. This is no good. Too attach a dump cart, this would require me to remove bagger frame from tractor! I removed welded hitch pin and replaced with regular old hitch pin. Now I can keep bagger frame on tractor and easily attach dump cart. No idea why Sears has hitch pin welded to bottom of bagger frame. (2)No problem yet, but suspect plastic frame around catch bags... read full review »

Well worth the purchase !!

I have to admit, I was skeptical of this product, I was pondering the purchase of either a cyclone rake, which costs $1500.00 plus tax or one of the Sears tow behind mulcher vacuum for tractors, I am glad, I did not buy either. This unit is great for a yard of 1/2 to 1 acre. What used to take me all day raking, blowing with a heavy leaf blower, that I had to rent from a rental, lugging to and from rental store. Now only takes me a couple of hours, sure I have to stop , empty bags, but it beats the misery of what I used to go through. If your looking for economical alternative to the expensive machines,... read full review »

love it! BUT . . .

Most of the time, the bagger works great with my LT2000. However, the chute really, really, really needs something to fasten it more securely to the place where the tab is on other models. I can put the chute where it needs to be, but it slips during mowing, and then some grass escapes. I'm going to look into hooks to go into the slot and string or rope to go around the hinge of the leaf deflector or whatever it's called. Anyway, when it works, it's absolutely wonderful. It's like magic! I'm mulching my garden patch for next spring with my grass and leaf clippings from this fall, and it'd be about... read full review »

Great bagger for leaves!!

I spent a lot of time reading the other reviews before I bought this bagger for my LT1000 and finally decided to buy it. For the past 5 years, I sucked up leaves with a Black and Decker Vac and Mulch which took all day, so I finally decided to try this out. It only took me about 10 minutes to assemble, and unlike other reviews, I thought the instructions were pretty simple to understand- just use your common sense. I have a bunch of leaves with no place to dump them, so I use 30 gal. trash bags to line the bins, and I am more than happy with the results. I do have to stop to compress the leaves... read full review »

3 Bin Soft Bagger - 42 in Deck

Just bought the 3 bin soft bagger for my DYS4500 Tractor. Couldn't be happier !!! Easy to install. All components fit together nicely and has a real solid feel (I'm not scared that everyting will come apart at the first little bump). It works like a dream! Each bag filled up in succession as they should. Removing the bins and dumping the grass was snap. All grass clippings were well contained. The only drawbacks I can think of at this point are: 1) in order to open the rear bagger cover, you need to flip up the tractor seat (not that big of a deal) 2) the bin-full indicator is a little red spinning... read full review »

Very limited

don't cut your grass if it even a little wet or a tiny bit long, the tube will clog. If you cut your grass twice / week starting in April (in the Northeast) and continue throughout the season, and only cut in the afternoon after 3 consecutive hot dry days, maybe you won't have problems. poorly designed item

Love Hate relationship

I couldn't agree more with "If I had rated this a year ago..., May 19, 2008 By OneCraftyMan from Maryland ". Love it but hate the fact the left side bag falls off almost every mow. I have gotten used to knowing where it may happen now and I just move the end bag to the middle about every 1/3 of my .5 acre lot. I too was disapointed about the service I had from Sears because there was nothing they would do. Oh well, lesson learned...I do like having the baggers though.

Simple and works

Purchased this for my 1 year old DYS4500 24hp and it works just as I expected it to. Very simple to install. I had to loosen two bolts (already in the mower) and the rest fit right on. The only thing I do not like is that I can not use the hitch without taking the bagger frame off the mower, which only takes about 5 minutes but it is inconvient. I have used it 4 times on a 1/2 acre lot and everything works fine.

3 Bin Bagger

The 3 Bin Craftsmen Bagger is a MUST HAVE for the lawn tractors. We hesitated in buying it at first, but decided to add it on at the last minute and we are so glad we did! It fills easily and rarely gets clogged. The individual bins make it easy to empty. It is good for picking up mowed leaves as well as grass. Our yard always looks professionally manicured and I believe it is because of the Bagger! It is definitely worth the money.
