Craftsman Blade Conversion Kit —

I bought the scrollsaw blade Conversion Kit, whose packaging clearly staed that it was compatible with ALL Craftsman 16 " saws EXCEPT Model #113.  I have a 16" Model #137.  When I went to retrofit the saw with the conversion kit, neither the upper nor the lower components would fit the respective arms of the saw. They were too long for the indentations at the ends of the arms.

I am so disappointed because I lost my job recently, and I have been attempting to build a home craft business wherein the scroll saw plays a key roll.  The Craftsman saw only takes pin-end blades; the conversion kit was supposed to allow the saw to take both pin-end and plain-end blades. Many fine-detail applications that I wish to engage in require blades that are only plain-end.  So, now I'm in the jam of having to consider buying an altogether different scrollsaw.  Any suggestions (other than offers on my saw...LOL)?
