These work GREAT!

I really enjoyed the purchase for these items because they worked great when nothing else would. I am also really happy because the tool has already been used for several other items that had stripped screws. I mainly use them to get off rusted bolts/nuts from my old vehicle. I think that every person... read full review »

Bolt-Out maybe

I needed this to remove a torx screw. unfortunately it wouldn't grab. I tried several sizes. Vise grips did the job. I expect that these will do the job in most cases though. They should work best with rounded hex bolts where there is a little flat edge left. Round bolts (like torx) will be more of a... read full review »

All I know is that I needed to remove 13 year old nuts from a 98 F150 and this tool performed better that I had hoped. I was able to remove many of the nuts with ease. Some of the nuts were too far gone, and I did not expect any tool to help in those cases.

Great product

These come in very handy for those rounded off nuts that you would otherwise have to drill or cut out. They are also priced very well in comparison to other tool brands with the same quality. These are a great addition and I have since ordered the 5 larger sizes.

I bought this as a stocking-stuffer for my oldest son, who's a professional auto mechanic in Detroit. He said they really come in handy at his shop. They're very tough, and they save him time and busted knuckles !

I had a rounded off oil filter bolt on my antique motorcycle.  Trying to use wrenches and sockets just stripped it more.  Vise grips even failed to turn the bolt.

I went out and bought the 6 piece bolt-out set.  At first, the special socket gripped the damaged bolt tight.  But because the head of the bolt was so chewed up, the socket kept slipping off.  I used the next smaller sized socket and hammered it onto the damaged bolt.  I tried turning the socket again and let it bite the bolt.  When I saw that it was starting to slip off again, I hammered flat onto the bolt and turned the...

Saved the day

Bought this set to remove striped bolt on my son's car.  Didn't know if it would work since the bolt was round on the exterior.  But it worked great!  The set is well made as usual for Craftsman.  Only problem was that I would have bought the full set if it had been in the store.  However, you can buy the add-on set and the case has the slots for these already.

Good Job!

Very useful tool

Couldn't have finished a job correctly without this, one of the coolest creations yet.  It help make the most impossible job just so easy.

I don't try to leave this behind on any job, it also led me to get another similar tool for screws, great price for the quality you receive.

I bought the set to remove one particular rounded-off bolt. However, it has come in handy for other projects that had been laid to the side due to stuck bolts or nuts.

As always, quality tools are my goal. Once again, Craftsman Tools have come through for me.

Thanks Sears.

I used these the other day to remove bolts from the exhaust manifold on my boat. They worked perfectly and no other tool would have removed them. A terrific tool at an unbeatable price. Put them in your tool box........if you use them once they are worth the money!

I just used this set of Bolt-Outs for the first time this morning.  I had to remove a bracket that was badly corroded, and naturally it was in a hard-to-reach area. I went through the normal progression --- liquid wrench, PB Blaster, taps with a hammer, impact ratchet, and finally vice grips.  Nothing.

I read the comments about Bolt-Outs here on line, and decided to run over to the local Sears store to pick up a set. When I first put the #4 Bolt-Out on the rounded 10mm bolt head, I was concerned that It wasn't as snug as I had hoped, but there was no way the smaller one would fit, so I just...

Bought these after I stripped a bolt head while changing brake calipers. Thought I would have  to torch the bolt out, but after after some PB Blaster, the Bolt Out and a breaker bar, the blt came out easier than I imagined. These are half price right now, so I am buying sets for everyone I know who works on vehicles!!

Great product

I used this to get some stripped header bolts off my old car. Worked good. A note however. When needed to remove bolts that are really torqued on it's best to use this tool before the head is completely rounded to allow it maximum grip. Basically the second your wrench or socket starts stripping it, stop and start using this tool.

Best I've used!!

All that I can say is wow. After trying everything possible...ie: Torch, impact, penetrating oil, and lastly vice grips. I had damaged the bolt so bad I couldn't even get a wrench to fit the deformed head. I hammered the socket on with an extension. With this set, the harder I pushed on the ratchet, the more it dug in. Off it came. For 14.99 I may have saved myself a few hundred dollars by not going to a mechanic. A great purchase.

Thanks!

I got my first chance to use this on some 10 year old radiator bolts that had corroded to the point where the bolt heads were rounded off. Once I found the right one, I popped it on my impact wrench and they came off in seconds. The only delay was knocking out the screws from the tool which only took one hit of the hammer on the included rod. I knew this would come in handy and I am glad it worked as advertised.
