Not just for table saws

While Sears markets this as a table saw acessory, it works very well for making box joints on a router table. My current table saw ( Sears Item# 00921806000 | Model# 21806) has a sliding miter table and a non-standard miter gauge which...

better to make one yourself

I bought this jig thinking that it would make creating my box joints easier. While the accuracy is there, I had WAY too much chip-out on the backside of my boards. I am using the Mirro dado set that you can buy at Lowe's. I think that if you had a very expensive set of dado blades and were using a hardwood... read full review »

An Excellent and Versatile Add-on

I agree completely with the previous reviews -- this is an excellent add-on which is extremely versatile. I originally purchased this a few years ago as a miter guide extension for cross-cutting longer boards. The stop makes repeating cuts easy an convenient. It wasn't until recently that I actually used it as a box-joint jig. I cut both 1/4" and 1/8" joints for use on a jewelry box and tray. The jig worked flawlessly and with precision. I highly recommend it. One tip: it is important to add the backing -board which is recommended in the instructions to prevent chip-out. Another tip: when x-cutting... read full review »

Great tool for Box joints

I bought this for just making box joints, I also had to get a miter gauge for it. This works real well for making box joints with repeatability without worry. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is a little tricky to set up. I have to check it against the table then take it off and reset and check again. Once this has been done, I check it using some scrap wood and make a few cuts to check for fitting; then adjust again. I am pleased with it but wish there was a better way of adjusting without having to remove from the table and inverting it to get to the adjustment nuts on the bottom.... read full review »

Box Joint and Miter Gauge

This is a great tool. I purchased it for cutting box joints, but found it to be the most useful table saw accessory I have in my shop. This tool should be called the table saw all in one tool.

A most have table saw accessory

After a high quality saw blade & biesmeyer fence, this is one of the most essential table saw accessories you should buy. There are many more costly crosscut/mitre accessories you can buy if you are truly into pro woodworking, but you will not find the value & utility of this particular accessory anywhere else. I've had mine now for over 12 years. I own lots (and I mean lots) of woodworking tools & accessories - some very expensive - but I still use this one for crosscuts & mitres - and it works! (Yes, it's called a box joint jig - nice to have, but it,s really the extended mitre guage features... read full review »

5 stars

Even though this is advertised as a box joint tool, it also makes a very good miter jont fence to add on to your small 4 to 6 inch miter guide, has an adjustable cut stop which is adjustable up to about 36 inches for repeitive cutting of the same lengh cuts, and it does work very well as advertised as a box joint jig after you get it set up properly, and it also comes with all of it's own tools to assemble and adjust the unit for your cuts. Great for the price, as there are a lot more expencive units out there that do what this one does or even less!
