Craftsman Briggs & Stratton Generator, 5600 Watt 10 HP —
After reading the reviews in search of a generator I decided on this one. And a good thing I did because I live in Houston and we just got nailed by Ike. I have been running this unit for 6 days now. It gets between 10 and 13 hours on a tank. I am running the Refrigerator, 7 ceiling fans, 2 oscillating fans, 1 stand up fan, any light I want on, the big screen TV, a playstation, the computor and a small window A/C with maybe 40% output. It will run the toaster oven or Microwave then goes up to 70%. It also ran my dishwasher, and washing machine but couldn't run the dryer even though it is gas. But dryers have high amp motors so I wasn't suprised. It also can run my 2HP pool pump which I have been running for a few hours a day so the pool doesn't turn into a swamp. It was a easy setup and YES it started on the first pull. I haven't used the octopus cable because I turned off my main breaker and backfed the 250V 30A output thru my 30A oven breaker, bypassing a transfer switch and let me just say it is wonderful. The only improvements I can see are that they should have put the fuel cap closer to the edge of the fuel tank and designed the oil drain to be further away from the tire. But no big deal and this item still gets 5++++ stars in my book... You will not be disappointed with this unit.
