I purchased the gen. used and it will start with one pull but will stop running after about one min.  Ther is no load at al on the unit.

Where do I kick it to make it work right?

Simple remote diagnostic questions:

Did you follow the setup and running procedures in the owner's manual?

How much oil does the engine have in it?

Are you using new fuel?

Have you tried running it with the gas cap loosened (vacuum lock)?

Adam missed the airfilter, sometimes they look good but are saturated with water (ice) or fuel.

That, or it's a lemon and you should probably just exchange it.

When you get a lemon...ask for the tequila and salt.

Make sure the fuel cutoff valve is open.

I didn't mention the air filter, because the post alluded to a recent purchase of a new machine.

The air filter, for a used, machine is definitely a good place to look at too.

Sometimes, the filter doesn't even "look" that dirty...
