5600W Generator

I first bought an "off-brand" on the cheap off the internet from an almost unknown company. It produced power for about 2 hours. I bought this machine and had it powering my entire house in about 2 hours, from store to home. The oil fill and oil drain could both be better located on the engine for more... read full review »

Engineering Assistant

I purchased this generator in Indiana in 2004. I realize it only had a 90 days store return policy. However my wife and I live in Tennessee and haven't need the generator until the February 5th tornado. When I went to get it out of the box. It was damage and I was unable to use it. I took it to the store... read full review »

Excellent Product

Bought one earlier this summer during a 48 hour outage. Needed it again last week when power was out for 80 hours. Initally took about 15 minutes to set up, putting on wheels and adding oil. You might need some help as this is fairly heavy. Started with one click of the switch and ran without a problem. Last week hooked it up, ran for over 75 hours straight, only turning off to add gas and to change the oil. At about 40% of load seems to run for about 12+ hours on a tank of gas. Ran lights, two TVs, two refrigs, one freezer, coffee maker. Haven't had a chance to hook up to 220 for well pump but... read full review »

Great Performer

Easy to use and appears to exceed stated running watts. Excellent directions! Ran 6000 watts before the engine began to show any signs of slowing down! My power meter doesn't appear to be very accurate. I had all my lights, refrigerator, furnace, TV, and sump pump, on and it still displayed 0% load! When I hit 6000 watts it registered 70% but the engine was straining. At that point it should have registered about 90%. Oil is easy to fill if you use a cheap long neck funnel. Looks like it will be a real power horse.

Craftsman Generator

Wow, this is a great product and very helpful when living through the Hurricanes here in the great state of Florida. We had one and recently purchased another one, that way we can help a neighbor have some electricity during the storms also. We are very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone who is in need of a generator. It has been very reliable and very dependable.

5600/8600

EASY TO FIRE UP. FILLED WITH OIL & GAS UP. ELECT STARTER FIRED UP AFTER TWO CRANKS, WAS VERY SUPRISED. BEEN RUNNING SINCE THURSDAY, SHOWS LOAD SO YOU CAN REGULATE THE ITEMS TO RUN IN THE HOUSE. IT TELL YOU IT'S TIME TO CHANGE OIL (BREAKIN OIL). ELECT HOPE TO BE ON BY THIS WEEKEND DUE TO ICE. NO REAL EASY WAY TO ADD OIL, OK TO CHECK IT. UNIT ROLL AROUND NICELY. IT DOES WHAT I WANTED IT TO DO.

Electric start generator

Iwas having problems with my other generator with hard pull starting. Looked around and bought this electric start generator. The store was excellent, put the wheels etc. on and loaded it in my SUV. Got it home, put oil and gas in it and pushed the start button, listened to it start up. Plugged some misc things in and it ran fine. We live in Florida and need the reliability of a great machine like this. Think Hurricane Season.

gen review

Great machine, easy start, great running, best we`ve ever used, we had a Sears 4000 watt purchased in 1979 and had used it for all our outtages since then, it died last month and we replaced it with this one, the previous review had a problem with the oil fill, its real easy, just use the dipstick hole on the other side of engine, I loosened the starter wire enough to relocate it farther from the end of starter and retightened, leaves a clear shot to the dipstick, and can use it for refill and change.
