Home Depot and Lowes will bring an end to Craftsman.

Craftsman C-3 Saws Drills Etc. —

The only thing that keeps Craftsman competitive are the coupons.  Lately I've found  that I get jerked around when I try to use Sears coupons.  I've been buying Craftsman for over 50 years.  I now find that I get better buys at Lowes, Home Depot, and the new kid on the block in my area, Harbor Freight.   I predict that Craftsman will no longer exist in a few years.

i have found problems with all of the big box stores. i have a set of hitachi cordless tools i purchased at lowes and can no longer find batteries no where but e-bay. i have a rigid 12 volt drill from home depot i can no longer find batteries for also. at least sears still has batteries that fit the tools they made 2 years ago. i have owned every brand of tool on the market, from craftsman to bosch to dewalt and others. i can find a problem with all of them if i set down and critique every aspect of the tool. i try to reseach every tool i buy and can find a negative comment about them all. sears will always get my business from time to time. but it's YOUR choice, not mine, buy what you want.

I thought he was making a valid point until he said "HARBOR FREIGHT OFFERED BETTER BUYS". HARBOR FREIGHT is junk. That's like saving $1000 on a car from the junk yard over a dealership. It's not going to last. Now, I understand your user name (idiot, you are)

i agree the coupns situation is horrble, but nobody has good quality or backs up the product like ceaftsman. show me how these other stores do exchanges on hand tools guarenteed for life. oh they cant because they dont.

I just used a DieHard $5 off coupon on a 3 year old Craftsman tractor battery. Worked GREAT!

Well, the Craftsman C3 tools are designed to work with one another, using the same types of batteries and chargers. Additional batteries and types of chargers can be purchased at any Sears store. And, an upgrade to Lithium-Ion batteries and chargers is possible. I don't know "what is up" with the "coupon" situation. Most of what I buy is simply "on sale" at the stores.
