I was a little concerned about a full size cordless circular saw but this saw has great torque and does not burn through batteries at an unusually high rate. Unless you're building a house this saw and a 1 or 2 extra batteries to keep recharging will do anything you ask of it. Also, the blade that comes...

Beauty with consequences

Cordless tools are great, wonderful etc. until you have to replace the batteries. Replacement batteries can be very expensive. Almost half the cost of the tool itself. I learned this fact after I had to replace the lithium batteries for my cordless drill.

Craftsman C3 19.2 volt 7-1/4&#34 Circular... Reviews

This is a great circular saw simply because of the freedom of movement while performing your tasks on a given job.  However, there is just one limitation from this circular saw compared to its corded brethren: battery life.  If you want the freedom to move around while making cuts, then this is absolutely the perfect saw for you provided you also pick up a few batteries, as in more than one battery.  This saw will definitely make short work on batteries because it does pull alot of energy to perform its job.

Simply put, this saw is just as good as any corded Craftsman circular saw with the freedom...

Circular Saw 19.2 C3

This is now my third C3 tool and have not been disappointed in any of them.  For my specific use of around the house, barn and garage repairs.  It is so convenient not to have to run extension cords which at times takes longer to do then the job itself.  The 7 inch blade and power is available to do any job I have used it on so far.  The laser guides I thought would not be of much benefit, but after using the saw, I don't know how I got along without them.

Great for small jobs

This saw is about 2-3 times more powerful than the c3 trip saw. Good for cutting a few 2x4's. I'll still have to get the ol’ worm drive out to build the fence, but for all the small jobs, it's perfect.

I bought this to use with my C3 NiCad 1/2" Drill and Sawzall as my first circular saw. Now, it is a great saw, no doubt. It has great unique features that set it apart from other similar cordless circular saws such as the laser guide, the standard 7 1/4" blade, and the standard round arbor. The blade size was mainly what sold me, and that I already had batteries and two other tools so it just made sense. AT THE TIME. I got it and bought a new Freud DemoDemon carbide tipped blade to finish it off. The laser guide works great and i bet this would be great as a trim saw, but for general use, look...

small wood task saw

This saw is fair. Corded is better though. The battery drains very fast. Definitely need lithium battery. This was a very good saw when I was using it to build a frame for a small closet, or when I was trying to cut up large tree branches to put in the trash can to avoid going to a landfill. Had to go through both batteries though but was enough to get these type of small jobs done. When I tried cutting a thin metal window blind the saw could not cut through. Not enough battery power or power from the saw. Laser is great it helped when making a frame for the closet. In conclusion if you are wanting... read full review »

I love it

I love the laser light on this and it is powerful! Great for little or big jobs. My son borrows this all the time.

Decent saw

I recently removed around 40 feet of baseboard, and had to cut all of it into smaller pieces for scrap. I ran this saw through all of it with no problem. Probably 30 or 40 cuts, on one battery. Sure, this isn't what you use to build an addition, but for small jobs, the portability is the strong point to me.

It's all in the batteries

The portability and being able to use standard size 7 1/4 blades are the real assets of this saw. It is good for quick jobs when using the NiCad batteries but with most saws they drain fairly quickly. The Li-Ion batteries make this saw exceptionally useful especially when power outlets are nowhere near the job. I have used it to build an observation stand and fence with all PT lumber using the Li-Ion battery and it performed witout a problem. Nearest outlet for a corded saw was over 300' away. As part of the C3 platform this is definately a must buy. I would only give it 4 stars with the NiCad... read full review »

Not bad, but not good

It's a pretty good saw, and being cordless, it can be pretty handy if you're away from an outlet. It drains batteries really fast, so if you're planning on making more than two or three cuts at any given time, you'll need a pickup load of batteries or a saw that plugs in.

Craftsman 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw with Laser

This saw works great, light enough to handle, plenty of power, & the laser makes accurate cuts easy.

straight line

Having the straight line to go by is great. Have done better at keeping pieces cut straight that ever before.

Price for portability

Well I purchased this circular saw and it was fine the first few cuts. After two cuts it is worthless I do not make a lkiving wiorking with tools its just a hobby. I bought almost all of the C3 tools and would only recomend the drill and light combo kit. You are poaying for portability not quality with the C3 tools. the good thing is that this saw cost so much i was able to take it back and get the best they had to offer for only $30 more. I read the reveiws before I purchased this tool and thought it wasnt that bad but IT IS! I am still stay with craftsman tools.
