“Convient but Cumbersome”
Craftsman C3 19.2 volt Cordless Inflator —
Being that I am extremely conscious over the safety of myself and my passengers I am always checking the tire PSI in my cars on a weekly basis. I saw this tool and thought that it would be a convenient thing to have to fill up tires that have lost a couple PSI throughout the weeks. I have a Craftsman 2 gallon compressor that can be a PITA to fill it up and lug the air hose around all my cars to fill them up with air. I will start with the Pros on this device: * Convenient and portable * Digital read out on the back lets you set PSI and lock the gauge in position so that it cuts of automatically when it reaches the desired PSI. And the Cons are: * When you set the PSI it always seems to read 1.5 PSI lower on the display area when you are done filling it up. Example would be, you set the gauge to fill to 32 PSI and lock it in place. The inflator inflates up to 32 PSI then automatically cuts out. When you look at the digital read out, it displays 30.5 PSI of air. * Air gauge seems to be inaccurate after I filled up a tire with what the Craftsman gauge read as 32 PSI, I hit it up with 2 different digital air gauges and they both read ~27 PSI. Seems like if you want the appropriate pressure, you have to add around 5 more PSI than what you really want. So basically if you wanted 32 PSI you would have to set the readout to cut out at 37 PSI. * Pretty slow inflation rate of course I wasn't expecting the power from an air compressor but it took me almost 5 minutes to put 20 PSI in one tire. This was also on a fully charged 19.2V battery. * Air chuck locking mechanism is plastic doesn't seem to be practical since it could easily be broken with daily use. All in all I would say it's a pretty handy tool to have around the house; however I think that it needed a bit more R&D before released to the public.
