This thing works great. I love it.
I bought this pump to replace one that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket. The 19.2 volt NiCd has enough to fill a tire completely or to top off a couple of low tires. About what I expect. The speed is fine too.
One problem is the chuck. On mine it would pop right off the tire as soon as the pressure started to go up. Eventually I went to a bike shop and bought a better chuck which came attached to a length of hose. Another stop at the local independent hardware store yeilded a plastic hose barb. I snipped off the Craftsman hose behind the chuck and spliced on the bike shop hose.

read full review »This fits the bill as to what an tire inflator for a car should be. Cordless convenience, adequate inflation speed, auto stop feature for pre-set PSI, not bulky. If you already have tools with a C3 battery, than this tool is a great add on. It's as handy and lightweight to use as a power drill. The only criticism I have of this unit is the chuck needs improvement. Over time (I had mine for about two years), the chuck starts to lose it's grip on a tire's valve stem so as a result, the hose falls off during inflation. In my case, to solve that problem, I had to cut off the chuck and...
read full review »I saw this at Sears just a week before a track day event, and after noticing its capabilities, decided it could be better than having a huge precharged tank or a lighter-plugged unit killing my battery. Boy was I right! This little thing was the hottest part in the pits, as any SCCA or track guy will attest, adjusting tire pressure is a pretty important part of tuning. I must have lent this thing out to a dozen other drivers, and even asked the Snap on guys why they didn't have one. Everyone agreed, its a must have.
I have used this tool for over two years now with wonderful success. I have been disappointed with a couple other c3 tools lately but this one in particular sure carries it's weight. I have used it for everything from a basketball all the way up to my pickup truck tires. It is very convenient. I believe the accuracy is right on too. The only thing I noticed is say you want 44 PSI - then when your pumping air, you need to hold it until about 46 to 48 and then let off the trigger and it should be right where you want it at 44. You will get the hang of this in no time flat. Excellent product!!! ...
read full review »Very nice unit. But...I used it 5-10 times over a 1 year period. When I turned to it last weekend I pressed the chuck closed onto a plastic fitting the unit came with and SNAP. The chuck broke in half. Made of some very brittle metal and very thoughtlessly the chuck is crimped into the hose. $20 w/ shipping to fix my $40 1 year old tool. I think not. I have my eyes wide open on Craftsman parts these days. More and more are stamped Made in China. Unit is nice if you are very very careful with the chuck. This hose should be recalled after reading how many people have the same issue. And who is...
