I got this drill a number of years ago. I have used it and abused it almost daily since then. It was MILES ahead of the cordless drill it replaced. It's such an excellent and reliable tool I've never had the need or desire to compare it to some of the more recent 18 / 24 volt competitors so I can't offer... review »

I purchased this drill Feb. 08. I used it lightly for 54 weeks around my home. This is not a commercial use. There were weeks and even months I did not use the drill. At 54 weeks the drill has apearantly stripped the gear or clutch mechanism. The motor runs fine but does not deliver torque to the chuck.... review »

Pros: Drill works very well and has amazing torque. Cons: I am not impressed with the keyless chuck. I lost 3 bits due to the chuck coming loose while driving screws. I tightened it as much as I could but it still came loose occasionally when in forward and everytime I used it in reverse. I will be returning the drill to the store.

Drill can get heavy with the large battery pack. Chuck system is okay but could be better. Battery power is short but has plenty of power.

I got this drill as part of a combo pack with other C3 series power tools. This drill for me was huge upgrade from previous 7.2v B&D I owned. The B&D still runs - it just feels/handles like a toy. I had another B&D drill 14.4v Firestorm that the battery and charger both went. I like the cheap prices (when on sale) of the C3 ni-cad batteries($20).The issue I see with this drill is the chuck. On my first real project with this drill I had the chuck slip twice and I had to dig the bit from the piece of wood (2x4). I really like the value of the C3 kit so, I replaced the chuck with a Jacobs 500 Series... review »

I have had this drill for roughly a year and use it daily in my home repair / remodeling business. Battery life and recharging time is good and overall this is a quality product (especially for the price) ... plus replacement batteries are more reasonably priced than competitors. My only complaint about this drill is the tendency for the chuck to loosen it's grip on the driver or drill bit periodically under steady use. Sears should take a lesson from Bosch when it comes to their hand tightening chucks.

Wore out after just a few months, and constantly switching batteries because they wear down almost as fast as they charge.

I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY HUSBAND FOR CHRISTMAS AND HE LOVES IT. HE LIKES THAT IT CAME WITH TWO BATTERIES AND HE REALLY LIKES THE SOFT SIDED BAG INSTEAD OF THE HARD CASE IT USED TO COME WITH.

Bought this drill in 2003 and used it for everything. From normal everyday uses to mixing mortar and grout for tile floors.(i.e. not exact what a cordless is designed for). And the thing held up great. 6 years of steady and sometimes grueling use before I burned it up yesterday. For $100, I'll be going to get another one very soon.

I bought on of these four years ago and love it. I have never had a problem with the batteries or the drill. I have 2 other Dewalt drills I have been trying to give away and can't. Just ordered another one today so I will have 2. I have used and abused this drill over the past four years and have never had it fail me. Have also used it to run a lot of 3 1/2" deck screws with no problem. Drill is a little heavy but at least the batteries are awesome and so is drill.

I actually purchased this drill three years ago, just before the batteries were rebranded "Die Hard," but the drill is the same and the batteries are the same. I used to have a cheap corded drill with a single-speed motor, and a cordless drill that used two versa-pack batteries and didn't have any power. I got this to replace both, giving me power and portability.

The 410 in/lb of torque is enough for anything I, or almost anyone, needs to do with a drill. The batteries are great, as their run time is respectable and they can be used with a bunch of other 19.2 volt devices. I've used this drill...

I bought this 19.2V C3 drill with work light as a combo. It replaces my 14.4V drill (Craftsman) which ran through the batteries. Among other jobs, I have just remodeled a large attic and used the drill extensively. Only one battery charge, and this after heavy work with 2X6 material. A quick charge. I really never thought about the little light attached to the drill until I started to use it and now I appreciate the feature. One minor complaint (reason for 4 stars) is that the bit or drill needs to be tightened every so often. This is a small thing, I know, but I don't think it should come loose... review »

I've had this drill for about 2 months and i use it almost every day for removing screws and bolts from cars. the bat never seems to realy die unless you hold down the trigger for two hours but duh! I did that as a test of battery life. I do use this drills big brother the impact driver that came with it as much as i do the drill and with the same results. slap on a lithium battery and they have a little extra power and a longer life. I dont know about the problem people on here are having with the chuck coming lose it never happined to me. I screw it down as tight as i can get it not just till... review »
