We've owned several hand vacuums over the years, and they've all come up short until now. The power available was always an issue with the other models. No such problem with this one. We use it daily because we have two cats. Despite all our best efforts of keeping the litter in the laundry room, we are constantly sweeping this stuff up. It works like a champ. We have kids, and one decided to play backhoe while Daddy was in the kitchen making pancakes. The soil from a large planter was all over the living room and on both sofas. Not a problem for this hand vac, it worked like a champ on...
read full review »The Craftsman hand vac is another great C3 tool. It is the best hand vac that I have used. The 19.2 volt battery is powerful enough for it to pick up most debris. Being able to change the battery means that you always have a vacuum ready to go: no cords, no waiting for a recharge.
A previous drawback of this hand vac was the lack of availability of replacement filters. They were neither available in the stores nor online. The shipping charges made ordering them from Sears Parts Direct unreasonably expensive for such an inexpensive and lightweight part. I have now learned from the Sears Executive...
read full review »This is a great addition to any power tool collection due to it's high quality in picking up small debris and quick clean up. This will not replace or supplant a good wet/dry shop vacuum by any stretch, but it'll get in there and pick up the small messes and even clean out your car for the most part.
My wife likes to use this to clean up small messes made by my children as they play and eat in the living room. When a tool gets her seal of approval, then this tool is definitely a must have for any home.
I use this all the time and it comes with to almost any chore in the house to clean up after drilling or sanding.
It's also useful in the car or other clean up jobs where getting the regular vacuum or shop vac is overkill.
I haven't had to replace the filter yet even though I use this often. I just tap it over the trash and give it a light brushing. Eventually I'll need to get one but so far this thing is a champ!
I purchased the refurbished hand vacuum, and I couldn’t be any happier. It has stuck with me for quite some time. It will suck up anything that I want (obviously not liquids). I am extremely pleased it also takes the 19.2v battery that my other tools use, thanks so much sears for making wonderful products!
I try to do all the work myself. Anything i fix and i have to clean up after. The Craftsman C3 19.2 volt Hand vac does a great job. I also use this to vacuum my cars every weekend.
I have owned this little vac for over a year. I use it on a weekly basis to help keep my cars clean. I picks up everything it needs to, dust, dirt, dried up chunks of mud. I have seen just one draw back and that is the fact the filters are not cheaper. It is only a few dollars more to buy a new one than replace the filter. I almost gave it only 4 stars because of this, but its not the vacuums fault the filter is overpriced.
Great vac, strong vacuum, battery interchangeable with other C3 tools.
This is a modern take of the old "Dirt Devil". This version works better, is more portable, and is easier to empty. Only wish you could buy it with a battery and charger. To get a battery you have to buy a 19.2V power tool and share the battery.
I'm disappointed with the hand vac. I have a 16 gal sears shop vac, which is huge and a bother to sling around for small jobs. So, I thought that this little hand vac would work for small jobs, eliminating the hassle of breaking out the big gun.
It didn't work out that way for me. The hand vac seems very underpowered, even though it makes a lot of noise, it just doesn't pick up much stuff. I ended up spending more time trying to make it pick up the dirt or sawdust and shavings than I would have had I just rolled out the big shop vac and done the job.
I'm really sorry that this didn't...
read full review »I have always been a skeptic of the hand vac concept. I was steadfast in my reliance on the venerable Shop Vac, even for small cleanups. Then I read the other reviews here and thought I might give this thing a shot (especially since I got mine on sale). Needless to say this vac handily exceeded my expectations. Powerful enough for the small jobs, cordless, convenient, and part of the C3 lineup. A fresh and fully charged NiCad battery will last me long enough to clean the full interior of a 4 door econo-box without losing all of its juice. It's certainly not going to replace your Shop Vac, but...
