Like a couple of other reviewers, I have an Echo CS-370 chainsaw. My saw fits in this case just like it was custom made for it (and Echo CS-400 would also fit as it is the same exterior dimensions as the CS-370). I like the storage slots for a spare spark plug, scrench, file, bar oil, etc. The...
Does not hold all the chain saws that Sears sells, bought one and after assembling it, found out that the chain saw, which I also bought at Sears, is bigger than the case, and of course I threw the carton away before assembling it and I don't have the sales slip anymore,...But when I read the description...
Like earlier reviewer, this case fits my Echo CS-370 like a glove. No need for tie down strap. The T-wrench snugged in ok. Only negative is operator's manual doesn't fit the provided slot. Seems like a larger space could be made in lid.
At $29.99 this is $10.00 less than Echo's case and you save the $17.95 shipping by buying at your local Sears.
Can't speak to durability as it is brand new and I've never touched the Echo case. I hope for the best. Meanwhile my saw has a home.
This case was easy to assemble and protects my new chainsaw. Keeps the manual and all the parts that might need to be replaced in one place. I'm buying a second one for the electric chainsaw.
Article should state that it holds SOME 14" and 18" chainsaws. It will barely hold my 14" 011 Stihl and it won't hold my 18" Stihl Farm Boss. I bought two of these boxes to put trim saws in. My Poulan 16" fits very well. The case is every bit as well made as the "Orange Box "I paid twice as much money for. It has more "compartments" than the orange box. Yes, the hinges are plastic but at $24, if you use it so much you wear it out it's paid for itself protecting the saw. There are places clearly marked for a chain file and guide, two extra round files, a spare spark plug, two t-handle wrenches,...read full review »
Inside the carrying case are several cutouts for what I imagine are tools that would come in handy for the saw. But other than sizes and some poorly designed graphics, you really can't tell what tools fit in these cutouts or what they even are suppose to be. There should be a diagram included in the owner's manual that shows what tool fits in each of the cutouts. Just think they could describe it as which Craftsman tool fits and possibly make another sale.
Just like someone else mentioned, this case will not fit my Sears 18 inch electric chainsaw because of the reinforced electric cord that comes out of the back of the saw.
It did however fit my 20inch Craftsman gas chainsaw which came with a custom molded case when I purchased it from Sears. So I was able to switch the cases and make do.
I was a little disappointed with the quality of this case. After assembly, I felt that the materials could have been a little more durable for the price that I paid for it, which was $25. The hinges seem a little flimsy, all made of thin plastic. It would make a...read full review »
I just bought this case and it fits my Echo CS-370 like a glove. There are blow molded spots for tools and oil bottles. Although my T-screwdriver did not fit in the designed spot but I was able to use another slot for it.
This is a nice heavy duty case but it does not hold "all" chain saws. It states that it holds 14" - 18" chain saws but I have a 16" saw and the case is at least 3" to short.
