I originally bought this knife a year and a half ago. It is very useful, compact, and strong. It is extremely easy to change blades, and with the locking mechanism there is no worry of the knife unexpectedly closing.
The Craftsman Folding Utility Knife is another great tool that bears the lifetime warranty. I recently bought this knife again because I lost my original. I strongly recommend this knife to anyone, and one can rest assured that you will not be disappointed.
I bought this knife today. I plan to carry it as a pocket knife as a few of my friends do. By changing blades you always have a nice sharp knife. The blade locking system is a lot stronger than other brands I've seen. I also have the wood handled version but this model is lighter in weight making pocket carry easier.
the knife is great easy to use and very handy
I am very pleased with this Folding Utility Knife * stock # 94848*. It did exactly what I purchased it for. It did the job a little too well, and yes I did exactly what I was told NOT to do by the Store Owner. I managed to cut myself the first time I used it. Fortunately, being prone to cutting myself I keep a first aid kit handy at all times. This tool is exactly the tool I wanted, it was in stock, and it was on sale too. I admit to being a craftsman tools nut. I have only 2 or 3 things in my tool box that did not come from Sears, and I found those on the side of the road.
These folding utility knives have been so useful to me to use over the years with Sears.
I've bought just about every model knife Craftsman has come out with.
I didn't realize HOW MUCH I liked these knives, until I organized all the knives I had laying around the house to one of my tool storage cabinet drawers.
Long story - short. They all "didn't fit" in just one drawer.
:)
OK. A tool fanatic working in a tool department is like an alcoholic working in a liquor store.
But, I've used virtually every model of folding utility knife Craftsman has sold.
So, I highly recommend the use of these knives.
This utility knife is one of my favorite tool purchases ever. The knife is easy to use, by opening and closing like a jack-knife. The blades change easily in three steps, and it uses standard utility blades, making it easy to keep stocked with fresh blades. The anodized aluminum body makes it very light but strong, and the knurled surface ensures a good grip even when your hands are a bit on the slippery side.
I actually purchased a second one during a rebate special, so it ended up being free. I probably use these knives once a week, for opening packages, or prying small things (not recommended),...
read full review »I bought one of these knives about a year ago and carry it everywhere . I'm in construction and it handles all I can dish out . With a lifetime guarantee as long as you don't lose it you'll be set . I bought this one because it was a great price and my business partner is always borrowing mine .
Okay so if you are looking for a GOOD utility knife this is the one you need! I used to get these styles from ***** but then it seems everyone switched to the quick release type knives, which for anyone that actually uses their utility knife the quick release is a very poor design.. drywall dust, saw dust from your bags and just being used the quick release quickly fails and it always makes its way to the trash. After doing some searches tonight I found this style again and will be buying a bunch just in case sears goes fully quick release but if you buy this style of knife you wont have to buy...
