I bought the edger attachment in April of this year (2010). I could not be more disappointed. The fit into the main motor body is loose and the point where the rod meets the edger body is equally loose. Thus, when the motor runs at 50% speed or more, the entire edger shakes violently. What makes me more upset however, is that this is a Craftsmen product. If this were some **** brand I'd purchased from ********, I'd not be so irritated.
I am getting older and holding the heavy gas line trimmer gets to be harder as you age. This edger piece worked for me.
I bought this edger attachment at the same time that I bought the weed trimmer. In the beginning, the edger worked great. That is until I went to change the blade. I followed the instructions in the user manual on how to change the blade. I even used a Craftsman flat head screwdriver inserted into the slot and a Craftsman wrench to loosen the nut. Maybe I should have used inferior hand tools to do the job. Anyway, the housing that the screwdriver goes into broke into pieces and fell apart. Now the blade cannot be changed and the edger is useless to me. With Craftsman's reputation...
read full review »Had a 1992 Craftsman line trimmer, and had some fuel delivery problems with it and with the price of new ones didn't want to mess with fixing it since it was so old. I typically had used the fish line trimmer for maintaining my yard edging (which is a lot), but it is a mess to do and it flings dirt and stones all over me when doing it.
When I got a new Craftsman line trimmer I noticed the Edger Attachment and thought that might be a great option, however, I was skeptical to think the small engine could effectively power the Edger. To my surprise the Edger Attachment worked GREAT! Its much cleaner,...
read full review »I bought this to go along with my craftsman weed eater. This was my first time using an edger and it was quite easy. Switching out the attachments was quick and easy and I really don't have anything to compare it to....but the experience was quite easy once you got the hang of it. It made my drive way and walk way look much neater and nicer I think.
It did what I wanted it to do quick and easy.
I purchased this edger last weekend to clean up the lawn on a house we were renting. It attached easily to my Craftsman 32cc trimmer. I had never used an edger before and the instructions were a little lacking. Of course they tell you how to attach it to the trimmer but that's about it. After about 5 minutes of trial and error I got the hang of it. Quick note, there are 2 holes on the weedwacker to click it into. Pick the one that makes the engine go verticle. I will work sideways but you'll look pretty stupid. I didn't see the other hole until I was finished. The machine has...

This handy attachment, attaches to the Craftsman weed eater. It attaches easy and works very well.
GREAT EDGER
The Craftsman Edger Attachment is very easy to use and allows for a very straight edge.
Great edger for one season.
Changing the blade has been impossible. Like many other reviews here, the mechanism to change the blade was completely destroyed as a result of following the directions.
Find another option or be prepared to replace this unit every time the blade wears out!
Great tool as always with craftsman but they did not think the blade change through. We struggled three days to get it off. WD40 and all sorts of sprays. Finally one of the liquid buster sprays helped. You need to let it sit a while in the sun preferably so it heats it up. Try a very large wrench and another to hold the blade itself from moving. Putting a screwdriver in the small area under the blade willjust break it.
