small middle-aged woman whips 4 overgrown flower beds into shape in less than 2 hours with her new, easy to use crafstman electric mini tiller. Buy this! Use the adjustable rear wheels to determine depth or remove for deep tilling just like the mantis. if you like fast results; have no desire to use gas machines; want to work without aching backs, calloused hands or sore knees. This tool is a no-brainer. thanks, craftsman designers!!

Used it to prepare my garden vegetable beds today. Worked great, quiet, easy to control. Able to adjust tilling depth. Loaned it to my nephew, so we'll see how it does with making a brand-new garden bed.

Great little machine! I am redoing my yard and wanted something that would break up the old sod, dirt and hedge roots that are growing under the sod. I didn't think this unit would have the power for all that but I didn't want to rent one and didn't like the design of the gas-powered mini-tillers (stress on long drive shaft could cause it to break). I took a chance on it and am glad I did. Easy to set up - no gas or oil, just plug it in. Quiet and environmentally friendly. No problems at all cutting through the dirt, sod and roots. Some areas I had to help out with a pick axe but I didn't mind... read full review »

Chronic back pain made using a shovel to dig up my veggie garden extremely difficult. I reached a point on a recent Saturday afternoon where I couldn't even pick up the shovel. After sitting still a few hours, I drove to my local Sears and bought this tiller (the last one they had in stock). I brought it home, put it together (easy), plugged it in, and went to work. In about 30 minutes, I had a 10'x4' plot done and ready for planting. Even if I never use the tiller again, it was worth the money just to prevent further back pain. But, not to worry. This was so easy, I've got more gardening projects... read full review »

I purchased based on the other reviews. What they had to say was VERY TRUE! It"s great for a petite person. There are several draw backs: 1- it is a fair weather machine. In the instructions it states that it can only be used when the soil is DRY. 2- it provides a cord lock, but it still gets in the way when using it in a larger area. 3- there is no depth guage and it does not till very deep.
