No more PIN's to remember

This is a great product.  It's easy to set up and install.  It took me less than 15 minutes to put it up.  I like the idea of using fingerprints.  It's more secured than using the numeric keypad models to me.  Not to mention that you don't have to memorized the PIN's. Some of the reviews claimed...

Most Helpful Critical Review

I purchased the Craftsman EntryEase Fingerprint Keyless Entry Pad because I liked the idea of the higher security, the low sale price and the fact that it is a cool technology. It was very deeply discounted ($35 with a regular price of around $110), where a comparable keypad was $40, so I took a chance...

I bought this for my son to get in the house after school. It's very undependable. I can't get it to work at all. My son have a little more success with it  than i do. I thought it would be more secure than the number pad.Well i was right. It's so secure we can't get in. I wouldn't recommend it. I will be exchanging it for a number pad soon.

Great product! No codes to forget, or get compromised by getting passed around by children, or adults!

These came with the three craftsman battery backup openers I purchased, openers work great these are a piece of ****, they work about 1 out of 20 times.  When you reload them they seem to work for a day and then they have problems again.

Works ok EXCEPT...

...that you need to realize that, although you are gaining superior security with this device, you are giving up the ability to allow someone into your home via the normal keypad when you are away from the house (i.e.:  running late and meeting someone at your house and want to allow them access).

For example: I was meeting the baby-sitter at my house after work one day (she was taking care of our 1 year baby on a rare Saturday in which I had to work a half-day).  I wanted her to meet me at the house at a certain time.  Of course, I ran into weekend road construction and was about 20 minutes...

Great buy

Easy to setup and work for my garage. It's a great product!

This is better than the numeric keypad because it gives you piece of mind that someone can't guess you garage door code. I was suprised at how well it reads your finger print each time, but you just have to pay attnetion to the directions on how to swipe otherwise it won't work well. Takes 5 seconds to program to a craftsman opener, very easy!!

Awesome Futuristic Biometric Entry

Everything is great about this product. Great way to bring your wireless entry up-to-date and enhance security over 4 digit PIN codes. PROS (1) Sturdy construction (2) Easy mounting (3) Easy to program (4) Great price (paid $49) CONS (1) May need Universal Receiver (315MHz) (2) Can only enroll four fingerprints (3) Cannot perform selective deletion(s) of enrolled fingerprint(s)

Does the sensor strip look familiar?

This biometric device uses the same kind of finger print reading sensor strip used in laptops...and, have those ever worked reliably in laptops? For those of us who have fingerprint readers on our laptops, we know...and, the answer is No. That's a real shame, people love technology that makes our lives more convenient and secure, so there's defnitely a market for products like this. BUT, it has to be able to WORK RELIABLY. Hopefully, Sears will get the message and release a more reliable 2.0 version of this product and please avoid the "finger swipe" type of sensors. They have a horrible "successful... read full review »

Neat but not worth the price.

This baby works great. i got it free during a special when I purchased a garage door opener- now that's a good price. It works for all four of us here- that's the maximum prints that it works with. Opens the door and closes it with a swipe of the finger. Easy to set up and opens by sliding up instead of flipping open.

Closes door but won't open it

It worked good for a few days then got to where it would not open the door although the "send" light came on the garage door would not respond. It always closed the door fine though. I returned it. Too bad it was a good deal ($39.99) at the time.

4 stars

It was to easy to setup but it doesn't seem to work well for my wife. It worked fine for me and my kids.

Safe and easy

I read a couple reviews and like the idea. So I went to sears.com but the price is $119.99. I waited until it was on sell and purchase it for $69.99 plus tax. Then pick it up at local Sears Store. However, it does not work with my Lift Master. So I went back to purchase the Universal Receiver for $19.99. I installed and completed within 30 minutes. Everyone in my family love it. I don't have to worry that my kid will give the code to anyone. I even installed fingerprint keyless entry for my door. So I don't have to worry that my kid will lost the key. Great security compares with the price I paid.... read full review »

No mention of very specific to certain models

on the online brief description. I have to now go through the hassles of returning to the store as I no longer possess the packing slip. Very few models outside of Craftsman are compatible with this unit. Make sure the learn button on your current opener is purple before you purchase this item.
