Great Lawnmower

I bought this a few days ago   on sale for $ 289.00 and got the key start turn because it was the same  price as the the non key start and it was easy to set up right out the box. I mulched my yard front and back with bag on and it did a great job.I had a older craftmans mulching mower but the self...

Craftsman Front Propelled Rear Bag Lawn Mower

After using for 2 month I like the mower. Then one day it wont start by key,so I think battery is dead. I leave on charge 24 hrs. and then try again, nothing won't start. So I take it back tio Sears to get checked. They tell me we have to send it off it will...

My shoulder loves the power start

I love lawn mowing and snow blowing but always hated using pull start engines because my right shoulder has problems. Receiving this as a gift was so wonderful. One charge was all I needed for the season. Same for this year. My only criticism is that the height adjustment on the front wheels slips. I'm sure Sears would fix it but I don't mind resetting it.

Bought this after using an electric mower for a while, which just couldn't handle the job.

This mower has been very dependable, starts well, mows well, though when the bag starts getting full it leaves a fair amount of grass on the ground. Sharpening the blade periodically helps as well.

So far so good...

I have had my new mower for about a month now. I bought it to replace a 22 year old Craftsman that I am passing on to my daughter and her husband. It still cuts OK, but it is a bit hard to start now. My new mower works great - the electric start is particularly helpful. It bags well and it mulches well, and the front wheel drive works without a hitch. So far so good! Let's see how the next 20 years go!!

Model 37624

Purchased this mower on 5/16/09. Before making purchase I did some research on the features. The features I was looking for in a mower was it had to be at least 6.5 HP, front wheel self-propelled, easy start, numerous height adjustments, single speed and under $300. Incentive at the time was a 5% rebate if bought on the Sears charge card. Total for mower, with key start and before rebate and tax was $295. So I receive almost $15 back. After reading the manual and putting in the fluids, I was anxious to see how this would perform. I agree with another reviewer that the mower seems a bit heavy, especially... read full review »

worth the price

I received this lawnmower as a gift about three years ago.I have breathing and joint problems and starting my old mower was impossible. I absolutley love the electric start. I charged it overnight and used it the next day. I do agree it is heavy especially pulling it back, but I just try to turn instead of pull as much as possible. If I hit a thick patch of grass or a dip in the lawn it may stall out. That isn't a problem just turn the key and it starts right up. I do have to push the primer 6-10 times to get it primed but so what it starts every time and I haven't had to recharge it yet. I would... read full review »

pretty good mower

I like this one better than the rear proppelled that I returned (easy return, thank you). It is much lighter and easier to handle. It is easier to turn. The self propel speed is better than the variable speed (which was way to fast and difficult to press just enough) It might be a little slow on the self propell speed but I'm an older woman and slow is better. I have just used it once. The cutting is good. The mulching was good for my lawn that was fairly short (I don't know if it will be good for longer yet). I miss it not having a washout port.

Works Great!

We bought this mower a week ago and it worked great right out of the box. Started up on the first try. I really recommend this mower.

Great Mower

This mower works great for my yard, which is about 7,000 square feet and mostly level. My wife loves the electric starter so much she won't let me it. She also prefers a mower with large rear wheels, but that's a personal preference. It is worthy of the name Craftsman and quality.

This is no Toro.

I bought this in August 2009, for my mother-in-law, though I am the one who will be using it.  The electric start works well and the mulching and mowing cut are very good.  My problem(s) with this mower are: 1) Very uncomfortable handle, when you have to hold down both the safety stop bar and the self-propel bar; 2) the front self-propel drive is awkward and tears up softer areas of the lawn and flower bed edges, speed is too fast for edging around trees, etc., too slow in the open areas; 3) very heavy and hard to handle when not in self-propel mode.  I have a ten year old Toro Personal Pace ...

This was a nightmare! Bought and charged it the full 24 hrs. Would NOT start with the key start so had to pull start it. Within 30 seconds the self propelled belt fell off and it took us nearly 2 hours to figure out why the darn thing was so hard to use and to figure out how to get the belt back on. It is wayyyy too heavy and its nearly impossible to pull backwards for turn around when your back is to a bush, wall, fence, etc, etc. Even without the front wheels not turning, the rear wheels cut divits into our lawn as we tried to turn the dang thing around. It was returned because we just dont... read full review »

Ive only used it a couple times so I cant speak for longevity but it starts easy, cuts well, self propel works fine, dont have to mix oil which is nice, my only complaint is that ive ran out of gas once and ive been running on fumes the other 2 times after mowing my 1/3ish acre lot which is annoying
