Bought this mower back in April. Great mower with all the bells and whistles. Did a fine job. However, The last time I used it, the engine began to throttle down. After restarting it, it throttled down again followed by a loud bang and smoke. Took it to the Sears repair center where it was sent out to check the problem. Much to my surprise, I was told the mower had been neglected and ran without oil. This was obviously not the case, however the oil was degraded. After further evaluation, and speaking with the repair center and customer service, who were polite and helpful, it was explained...
read full review »I bought this mower Aug 8th. Drive and cutting are good, although I believe my old Craftsman mulched better. The blade is different on this one. After six weeks it wouldn't start with the key so I tried to charge it, but still it would not turn over. It did start easily with the pull cord. I figured after only six weeks it was probably a loose connection from the vibration. I started checking and found that the battery terminal was badly corroded and broke off, and the battery connection plug was corroded. The battery is inside the housing where the blade is, and is only protected by a plastic...
read full review »I just bought a brand new Craftsman 7.0 Torque, front wheel drive mower (model 37659).
This mower has a horizontal air intake making it impossible for any dust and dirt to get into the air intake when removing a dirty air filter. That's a big plus!
Note: My last Craftsman mower died because it had a vertical air intake. A pinch of dirt fell off the filter and into the air intake upon removal. Mower started spitting out gas and oil out of the air intake and clogging my air filter. Mechanic said pistons and cylinders were badly scratched and my engine was not repairable. Lesson...
read full review »This mower is absolutely great, better than my self-propelled Lawnboy, key start, I used to have for 10 years. Since using it, the neighbors and other friends have complimented me on the beautiful yard we now have. I am so thankful that Sears has a 90 day no questions replacement. I have had two of these in the past 4 months because the key start quit working, and the very comfortable, soft handle cover rips so easily. I will be getting a replacement again today, hopefully the 90 day replacement will be at least after my first mowing in spring. It appears that the lawnmower will malfunction...
read full review »Best mower I have had. It starts easy and promptly. It runs great and gets the job down in record time. I like the fact that I can use it to mulch without the bag. It also looks great. I guess I am really "styling" while mowing the grass.
I got this mower reconditioned for a great price. If I had to pay full price I would have brought it back after the first day of use. Front wheel drive does not pull through grass that needs to be cut down 3 inches or more. Under the front of the mower cutting deck is a piece of metal that forms the front of the cutting deck. This metal is flimsy. It bent and the blade was hitting it. I bent it back with a plyers. The rubber skirt is too long. When backing up the skirt goes under the mower and the blade ripped it off. For a 7hp mower the engine surges and dies when cutting thick grass...
read full review »I shopped for a Craftsman 22in. Mower at my husbands request, he wanted certain features but not all the new gadgets on it. So I went into Sears, and met with the Salesperson whom showed me a few fully loaded. I mentioned the magic words, 22in. self propelled, high wheels and we were in business........ I knew my husband wouldn't care forthe wash plug, but its an added you don't have to use. He complained about it not being plain enough, until he pulled the cord. After cutting the entire lawn, he did a 190..... He agrees, this is the best Craftsman Mower yet. It runs first pull, it has the front...

I purchased this mower to replace my 13+ year mower which was still running, but pretty much on it's last legs. The mower came fully assembled, all I had to do was roll it out of the box, straighten the handle and tighten the handle joints and It was ready to go, well almost. Next you need to charge the battery for the electric key start, this was simple enough, you just plug the male end of the wall charger to the female end of the battery. The manual says you only...
read full review »Bought this mower yesterday to replace out of commision Troy Built mower. The new Craftsman has the same features, and then some that add to the performance - quality of this machine. Nothing beats the key start - which the wife likes. Easy to clean garden hose attachment. Just going to take a little time to get used to the height adjustments and the self propelled speed. Overall a great machine.
