EZ-Start is CRAP

Pros
Works fine if you can get it to start.
Cons
Can't get it to start. WORTHLESS

Craftsman Gas Mini-Tiller/Edger —

I've had this machine (Craftsman Gas Mini-Tiller/Edger) for 4 years and have a small garden.

First year (brand-new, out of the box), started great.  Probably started 2 or 3 times after refilling gas with zero problems expected or encountered.

Second year, EZ-Start would not catch.  No way to start, almost chucked it.

Third year, thought I would give it a try, EZ-Start worked first time  !?!?!?!

This year, I'm back to frustration.  Will try using hammer until it either works or is destroyed.

Back in the "Day", Craftsman was a name you could ALWAYS trust.  I have lots of Craftsman hand-tools, but will shop elsewhere for small power tools.

Sears, I leave you with two words:  "Montgomery Ward".  Start making things well, not cheap.  I can't afford cheap.  And I will shop elsewhere.

This is a follow-up. Didn't use a hammer, but beating on the thing with my fist "freed up" whatever was causing the failure with EZ-Start.
After priming, the little blue tab would not stay locked. Discovered that fuel control cable was not operable. Force it and it "freed" up, allowing blue tab to stay locked.
Tiller started on first try after that.
It's working, knock on wood, but would never buy another one.
When it works, it's a nice little product. When it works.
