This type of line is pretty nice considering the ease and quickness of changing line while out edging.  If you actually pay attention while you're edging, you can get a lot more usage per length of cord.  My only complaint is that I feel you get just a tad less product than what it's worth.  Personally,...

Hassle Free Not So

Being a tried and true craftsman fanatic, this has to be the worst system for line trimmers i have ever seen. The line requires other tools to change. It does not last very long and requires changing every weekend. I used to have to change line twice a year and now I have to do it every weekend. Have... read full review »

My youngest son is mowing for a summer job in Wyoming and Craftsman Hassle Free Trimmer Line in all sizes has been a God send.  Is simple to use and strong enough for any of the weeds we have here and believe me we have weeds.

This a great product ....if you sell line

I hate this system. You pay 10 times more per inch of line than the rolled line and end up throwing away better than half of each replacement line with each replacement since it becomes useless fairly quickly once several inches of it have worn away. It seems like you are only trimming with the optimum full lenght for a few minutes before the line is getting short and you keep using it because you don't want to stop AGAIN and replace the line. Give me old tap and go head any day. Line is always full length and only needs to be rewound every 15 or 20 uses. This system might be fine for light, lawn... read full review »

Weed Wacker line

Long lasting.  One line can do my entire property.  Easily bends for installing line to trimmer.

Good Product

This is a very user friendly system, even my wife can change the line without my help which was never possible before with the old wrap around the spool design. They seem to last pretty well when used on grass and weeds. They wear out faster when used on a fence line because the metal chews them up, but that goes for any line. Overall a great product I highly recomend for ease of use and installation.

Work Great

Ive one of the first 4cycle trimmers that Sears offered, its a heavy 34cc bear, It came with this type of line. I tear up weeds that have turned into brush with these lines.. With normal trimming I can get quite a few cuts before having to replace the line. (Ive had the trimmer for about 4 or 5 years now, and I just used up the last one out of the 20 (10 red 10 black) pack I bought at the same time) Very easy to change, MUCH MUCH better than one ones you have to smack off the ground. Great Design!!!!!

Hassle Free trimmer line

I have been using this Hassle free line for years, easy to insert into spinner without having to spool a long line, only uses two 12 in. strands at a time and lasts a long time before needing new ones. Unless it's rough thick cutting, then you might need a metal blade.

weed eater and line

Being very blunt the weedeater has lots of power but changing the line every 5 minutes is a hassel. I have tried the red and black line and it seems to make no difference. wished I had not bought the fixed head. I simply have even went by the directions to keep the line conditioned. Within an hour I used a complete tube just to weed eat my yard. They simply do not last that long.

Great product

For changing out line this is the only way to go. People that are contemplating weather to buy this style of trimmer I say go for it. Performance you will love the ease. Value will not beak the bank. I get 2 to 3 uses before I have to replace the line. How is that for value?

easy to use

Very easy to use. I would suggest to buy a roll of line and cut it to save cost, but if you aren't worried about cost then it's for you.

Very pleased, much faster and no hassling with winding a spool of line in a trimmer head that may or may not feed/bump out well on you.

Like with every other kind of string trimmer, they don't like fencing/concrete, but these don't wear down any worse than other kinds of line, and actually take a few extra in my back posket when i trim around my 10 acres here if/when a change is needed, and can do so in a very short time with no hassles vs a wound spool type trimmer head.

This style of trimmer (w/ pre cut line) will be the ONLY one i will use now and will be the next one if and when this one uses...

I use these in my 4cycle craftsman weedwacker.  Really easy to load!  These are quiet and perform well, though I think I need to work on my trimming technique while doing the sidewalk in front of my house.  It seems the concrete eat these up quickly; after 1 days work the line is shorter by 2 inches.  I won't deduct a star for that though, as I'm sure its more in my technique using the weedwacker than it is the string itself.
