This is a really handy alternative to a pole saw. The blade cuts suprisingly quickly and easily. The ability to stand where you want and cut is quite nice. This tool works great with a frind to help. The only disadvantages are that if you're cutting a diseased tree, with soft, and wit wood it tends to get stuck so just take your time and let the saw do the work. The inconvenience is trying to throw the sand bag over the limbs, especially with storm damage. Defenitely a very good alternative to an expensive pole saw. This does require some manual labor, so if you're not into that, don't buy this.... review »

Best $29.99 ever spent!

We used this tool to trim 1 branch off a 60' walnut tree and 3 branches off a 75' sycamore tree--the branches ranged in size from 18" to 27" around and 15' to 25' up. It did an amazing job! If we only use this tool once, it was money well spent--easily saved us $350 in tree trimming costs. Works better with one person handling it, as opposed to two. Gook thing my husband was looking to squeeze-in an extra "lat workout." Really a very handy tool and, given the number of storms that come through our area, one we'll use often.

Great price...ingenious system, simple and effective. This is a perfect tool for someone with some to very little mechanical knowledge. This is my kind of tool. There is little to go wrong with it, and the price is right. Craftsman quality ensures a product that will last a long time for an average homeowner with limited number of trees requiring pruning.

A very handy tool, and surprisingly easy to use. With this cutter, I was able to get at branches that would have required an extension ladder or climbing gear. The blades cut through large branches quickly. If you're not careful, the rope ends tend to wear quickly through abrasion against tree bark. Overall, very useful tool and reasonably priced.
