I bought this keypad knowing that I will not have any problem with it. This Craftsman item # 53754 was mounted on the outside of my garage door and working in just a few minutes, very simple to set up and very easy to change codes also, I would give it 5 stars just because it's worth the money and looks...

Piece of Junk

One of these keypads came with our Craftsman garage door opener at the time of purchase. Sears installed it...and it's always been a piece of junk. 4 years later, I'm still wondering why I have this installed when it only works about 50% of the time, when it's warm outside. It doesn't work at all... read full review »

I have had the keyless entry pad for several years and have not been impressed with it even from the beginning.  Its operation is sporadic at best.  We often had to re-enter the code and more often had to press the enter button several times to get it to work.

A couple days ago it quit working so I changed  the battery and still nothing.  I took it down and tried resetting the PIN with the opener and still nothing.  When I read the reviews I noticed that BEBOD experienced the same problem.  I am not sure what I will do but soaking another $40 into an apparently poorly designed product seems...

Keyless Entry Pad

Quick to program easy to install remote means you don't need to bring the keys when you head out

This wireless keypad was very easy to install and program.  The instructions are printed inside the cover.  Push and release the "learn" button on the motor unit.  The learn light will light up for 30 secs.  You then have 30 secs to enter a 4-digit PIN on the keypad followed by pressing and holding ENTER until the lights on the motor unit  flash.  The code is now learned.  That was when it was new 3 years ago.

Then the 9v battery died.  (It lasted 3 years; it was very rarely used.)  Trying to reprogram with the new battery using the same procedure doesn't work!  While making this attempt...

This is a great keyless entry pad.  It works with PURPLE learning button openers - very important to match correctly.  The temporary timed PIN and one button (ENTER) closing features are great.  The manual doesn't explicitly call out that you can control up to three garage door openers with this one unit which is a a great feature - I stumbled on this feature by acccident.

I've been (rarely) using the keypad for about 2 years without incident.  Last week it stops working.  I check the battery... it seems weak and I change it to a new 9V.  I try to program it, doesn't work.  I try over and over and over with no luck.  Am I doing something wrong?  I wait, take the battery out (try to reset it) and notice the keypad light is staying on the whole time.  The only way it'll go off is if I take the battery out.  I'm like, at this rate the battery will just drain completely- so I take the battery out and go to this website to look for further instructions and see...

works great and dependable

Works great. Had to change the bettery after about 3 years of use. We use this many times a week. After changing the battery the unit would close the door but not open it. Replaced the battery again still same problem and all lights would stay on. I was already to buy another when I decided to try hitting the learn button on the GDO and reprogramming the unit as if was new. This worked and the unit works properly. For the person who woas wondering if there was any advanced warning before the battery dies that was a no for me. I do recall having to hit enter a few extra times in the past to get...

Great feature

Easy to install and set the code on; however it is operated by a 9-volt battery and not wired into the circuits for the house. I am wondering just how long the battery will last, and if the unit will give any warning before complete battery failure. At this time, we are using it approximately once a week.

This keyless entry pad came with battery backup belt driven opener . The entire unit was a great buy and was very easy to install. I would highly recommend it as a replacement for older models.
