I owned a Craftsman lawn tractor for over 15 years. It is still running decently. I was actually looking for a replacement mowing deck, as mine had finally rusted through. Unable to find a used one and seeing that a new complete assembly cost almost $500., I figured I'd go ahead and spend double that...

Good, Basic Lawn Mower

Have owned this lawn tractor for just about a year and used it over a dozen times. This is a very basic mower which gets the job done, but will not give you an even cut. I have spent a lot of time adjusting the deck, but just can't seem to get an smooth cut. I suppose I will have to break down and...

I bought the 1500 mower one month ago ,cut my lawn 4 times and no problems. My last mower was a Murray Sentinel 12hp/39in cut,it lasted 13yrs .If this one will last that long,it's a very good mower for the price.I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS MOWER TO ALL MY FRIEND.I check with all the stores and for the price you can't go wrong

Perfect

I have owned this mower for just over a year now. It has been perfect in every way. I added the bagging attachment and I will tell you what I don't have to rake leaves any more. This thing just sucks them right up. It used to take my wife and I 4 hours to mow our yard now we are done in just over an hour. Thank you Craftsman for making my life easier at a price that won't break the bank.

Good job

I bought the mower out of desperation, as my husband is retiring and I am not able to cut our 2+ acres of yard by myself with the push mowers. We are able to keep up with the grass and weeds and love the rider. It does a good job, no problems, and I liked the delivery system. Already oiled, lubricated, battery charged and with gas added - ready to go. It cuts like a professional, and is user friendly. Very good product. I would recommend it to anyone who needs help with lawn mowing. Thank you for the great product. "A happy customer"

I bought this mower around the first of Feb. 2010 so I don't have any grass to mow yet but I have rode around some and mowed leaves.  I think it's a good mower.  I customized my mower with new paint, decals, a nice racing type steering wheel, an oogah horn, rubber foot mats, and a home made metal roof.  I can't wait til the grass grows :).  Check the video review out for how it looks. One thing you should do before buying this mower and that is Join the Seaars Craftsman Club and Shop Your Way so you will get a discount.

Nice Machine for the Money

Got it about a month ago and it's worked very well so far. Just mowed over two weeks worth of growth after coming back from vacation and it didn't even slow down. Seems to be more solidly constructed than other tractors in this price range. Being able to mow is reverse is a nice feature on a yard with as many obstacles as mine. My only complaint is that the clutch engages too abruptly. You need a fine touch to launch smoothly, especially in higher gear.

Good tractor for the price

We purchased this tractor in the spring on 09 to replace a worn out 12 year old similar tractor of a different make. After a season of use on our med lawn and also on our 1 acre farm plot we are impressed with the tractor's performance.

When we first got the tractor, one rear tire always needed air, this was due to a porous weld in the wheel and was replaced by sears.  But not before an agravating call to sears call center that seemed to be someone in India or at least with  someone that english is not their first language.

We did purchase the extended warranty and hope for a better experience...

I bought the LTS 1500 42" and bought a two bag bagger to go with it.  With dry grass and a few mole hills to go over I am just one big cloud of dust while mowing my lawn.  I have mowed my lawn at least 4 times since I bought the mower.  I have to thoroughly wash the machine, top to bottom and remove all my clothes before going in the house to take a shower.  This system should be recalled!  Also the drive or clutch system is just down right dangerous.  When it says to let the break release off slowly, it means slowly!  Front wheels frequently jump off the ground when I let out the clutch....

A Workhorse

We bought this tractor eight years ago and it still runs great. We bought the the 42" cutting deck because we mow a little over an acre. We originally had one but we had a minor oil leak and sears and craftsman stood behind their product and instead of fixing it, we got a brand new one. It came in the truck their guys personally tested it out to make sure everything was OK and they handed me the keys. For the price this is a steal. It gives a great clean cut look. If you take care of it it will take care of you and your lawn. We also bought the snow blade and the leaf bagger and we are very happy... read full review »

IT'S TIME TO GET A RIDING LAWN MOWER!

My wife had been wanting me to get a riding lawn mower for years but I thought our 0.55 ac. yard just did not need it. However last year at the age of 52 my wife noted I was getting slower and slower doing the work with a walk behind self propelled mower so she "put her foot down" that at my age it was TIME TO GET A RIDING LAWN MOWER. I researched them all out on the web. I did not want a "pro" one because my yard is NOT "pro" and those are heavy to pick up if you have to. I did not want a "small" one because they do not have enough hp. I did not want a "fancy" one because I just want it to mow... read full review »

I have had this mower 2 days and I want to take it back. The cut is awful and now my yard is a total mess until it grows some so I can mow with a better mower. Very disappointed.

I got this tractor not quite two months ago when my old wheel horse broke down. I was tired of spending the money and the time to fix it. Big mistake. We went to our local sears during a promotion and got the tractor with the 3 year service agreement, (which is a great investment if you want to waste your money on this tractor.) when we arrived at the store, the tractor was pushed out an up onto the trailer, but the seat bolt was busted and had to be replaced, and noticed that there were no craftsman decals on the hood and were no plastic foot pads. They said that these were not meant to be...

Very Satisfied

I just bought the LTS 1500 to replace a Craftsman 12 HP/39" we had purchased in 1989. Our lot is a little over 1 acre and has a moderate grade. I have now cut the grass more than half a dozen times since it was delivered. The delvery crew did an excellant job: on time as promised, provided instruction, attached deck wheels, and left no trash. We are very pleased with the performance of the LTS 1500 and the job it does. And the low cost was an excellant selling point as well. I would recommend this tractor/mower.
