Craftsman Laser Trac 5.0 amp Orbital Jigsaw with Scrolling Action and Carrying Case —
I had a bit of difficultly controlling my cuts on large round cuts (cutting out a 6' diameter table on 3/4" plywood). Did not turn out very good on my side, but then watched my son, who has been working as a carpenter for a year cut a fairly perfect other half. We have used it on several projects since then and have no problems other than it does not seem to get returned to the workshop and therefore I can't find it when I need it! Very handy tool. Wish I would have gotten one years ago.
I do wish you could see where the blade was going more easily though. This would be very helpful when making irregular cuts.
I prefer getting tools like this in cases where I can easily stow the instructions in the case, along with extra blades. I write our name on the side of the tool, and then the name of the tool on the top and sides of the case, along with our name on the top of the case. Put your name up front and in the open. This way I can easily retrieve it out of the cabinet I have it stowed in, and if someone borrows it there is no question as to who it belongs to.
There is nothing worse than borrowing a tool from your neihbor because you cannot find yours. Then while you have it you find your name underneath some flap so you would not 'wear off your name' so you have to go back and explain it to the neighbor why you are not returning the tool he never returned to you in the first place! Put your name up front and personal, and if you have to redo it, redo it!
