I bought this device at my local Sears store for a remodeling project. I put it away until today 7/09
and brought it out for another project only to find that the leveling bubbles had dried up. I thought Craftsman would stand by it's tool, but no they wouldn't. I buy many Craftsman tools but I'd think twice before buying another such product from Craftsman now.

As most of the other reviews the levels are dry and serve no purpose. Pathetic of a US company that is supposed have a good reputation for tools and yet they do not stand behind their product. However I guess the tag does say "Made in China"

I got this Item on Sale and order it for store pickup which was very prompt, the product was well packaged and meets all of my expectations, except for not measuring fractions of an inch.

Cheap quality product. The batteries don't fit in the laser guided measuring tool, the compartment is too small for the battery size AA. This will be going back to Sears

We recently moved into a new house and of course, had to populate the walls with pictures. The Laser Trac Laser Combo Kit came in very handy for my projects and everything is perfectly level!

I too experienced the "empty level" syndrome. I took the unit to my nearest Sears Hardware store, indicated that I did not have a receipt, that it was a gift, FOUR TIMES. They indicated that there was nothing they could do, and that the replacement guarantee only referred to hand tools. I don't know how else I was going to use the tool, but whatever. I left disappointed with the "Craftsman" experience.
Your "reviewer nickname" slot is horrendous too.

I've had this set for about four years. None of the bubbles have dried up, and it is deadly accurate at leveling. The laser measuring device isn't as reliable, however. I don't use these tools very often, but they save me a lot of time and hassle when I do.

I received the Laser Trac Laser as a gift from my children. It was a useful tool for many projects, but on a recent project I found that the level vials were dry. I spoke with a salesperson about the problem and because it was out of warranty I would have to contact the service center. I also pointed out to the salesperson that there were several Laser Trac's on display with the same problem. I contacted the parts center and was informed that there were no repair parts available at this time. I always believed that Craftsman stood for Quality.
I am now the proud owner of a RED PAPER WEIGHT.

I use this laser level for everything. So much that I'm now looking into getting the Craftsman Tripod to use with it. I haven't used the laser measuring tool much, but it does work well for what I have used it for. All in all, this is a great tool to use for hanging shelves and pictures.

At first this product worked well. After a few uses its cheap materials and construction became evident. The battery compartment cover and switch became loose and now I have to strap a penny to the switch with tape to keep the laser on. I would not recommend this to a friend. It was money not well spent.

I received laser level last year for fathers day. I didn't have a project right then so it sat on the shelf for a year. I finally had a project to useit. Set it nice and leve according to the bubbles but the line didn't look level. So I grabbed the old fashion level and sure enough the line is off by about 2 degrees for both vertical and horizontal. Looked in the instructions to see if there is any adjustment and this is not. Makes the it kind of pointless.

the product has an excellent look and it's ok for indoor purposes, but, when it comes to outdoors projects, (which is what i need it for) the level is worthless. (can not see the laser line in day time) i feel that i've wasted my money.

I bought this kit just over a year ago during a major Home remodeling. It worked great the first few times, although it is sometimes difficult to get an accurate read from measuring tool. Now as I am finishing the interior work, pictures, shelves, and so on... I went to the big old craftsman tool box to get the laser levler where it has been packed away in its durrable case. To my dismay the leveling liquid has all dried up so the thing is useless to me now. I expected better from a craftsman product.
