I love my Craftsman mower. Always key is getting the right amount of horsepower--more hp makes the job easier. So I bought the 6.75 hp model. Not sure which model, but it is red with big back wheels and elf-propelled front wheels.

This thing is easy. Easy to turn, easy to get through the tall grass when...

I have been attempting to purchase your advertised clearance item 070712860500 for 2 weeks now. It is  a 17.5 hp riding lawnmower listed as a clearance item in my Sunday newspaper for the last two weeks.  I have already complained that the item was not available at all in my area last week...... read full review »

Old Reliable....

I can't tell you the exact model we have, but I can tell you that it's been around forever. When we bought our home in 2002, my dad gave us this mower, it originally belonged to him and he'd owned it for 15 years - we've now owned it for 8 more and she still runs like a champ. The quality behind a Craftsman mower, tool, etc... it amazing. Once a year we take the mower in for a tune-up and that's all the more we've ever had to do. If you take care of a Craftsman, it'll take care of you.

Don't waste your money

Left rear wheel "stamped" metal part cracked, wheel will not stay in position.  Mower is useless, and so is the SHORT warranty.  Instead of buying the expensive replacement part from Sears we purchased another mower from a competitor.  Considering the level of business I have given Craftsman over the past 20 years, and the poor Service I get on equipment less than 6 months old, I've moved on to another supplier for my tool and home needs.  Craftsman is just not a Craftsman anymore.

In 2009, I purchased a Sears Craftsman 21" 675 push mower model # 389062 for $257. It has a black B&S Platinum "top-of-the-line" engine which self primes and chokes (the Gold engine Sears offers has a manual bulb primer) This is a large rear wheel model and is NOT self propelled.

Easy set-up. I just rolled it out of the box, unfolded and fastened the handle, filled it with the supplied oil, then added gas. Literally ONE pull... it started right up! And the handle easily breaks down into a Z shape for easy storage.

The B&S engine has the "MRS" (Most Reliable Starting) feature- It's guaranteed...

I purchased one step down from the top of the line, because I don't change my blade height often enough to pay an extra $80.00 or so for 2 handles instead of 4.  The platiunum B&S engine is great.  You put in the oil, you put in the gas, one pull on the string, and off it goes.  After charging the battery overnight, I was able to use the key start ignition for the rest of the season, without the need to plug it in again.  It is very easy to clean, you just thread the garden hose onto the hose adapter on the top of the mower, and turn on the water, wait a minute, turn it off, unscrew the hose,...

We purchased a craftsman push mower in 2000 and have used it every since with no problems.  It fires up every year and does a great job cutting the lawn.  We can't believe how well it has worked and how long it has lasted with no problems all this time!

This lawn mower isn't perfect but does the job of mowing smaller lawns.  It would get a lot harder if you had a larger lawn because the handle for the front wheel drive is hard to keep held down for small hands.

really nice lawn mower

We just bought a lawn mower from sears craftsman line.  This is a self propeled one and has a bag for collecting the trimmings.  They have a 2 pull guarantee that if it doesn't start on the second pull you can bring it back and they will replace it.  Well my husband decided on his first run to be a wimp and barely pull start it.  It amazingly got started really well!  This is a really nice feature espeically since I will be mowing on my own at times.  So far it works really well and does a great job.

Returned...

I went into the Sear Hardware looking at lawn mowers.  I bought their middle-of-the-road Craftsman.  I returned it a week later and this is why...
  1. I don't know how this thing got passed quality control, but the handle wasn't even painted fully.  About a fourth of it was missing paint!
  2. The wheels wobbled.  It looked like they would fly off any minute.
  3. The height adjustment on the front left wheel kept disengaging.  At first, when the mower veered to the left, I thought I was doing something wrong.  Then I realized what happened after the second time.  Not too happy about it.

I don't think...

Use scissors, not this mower

Another piece of junk lawn/garden equipment from Crapsman.  I have had 2 of these lawnmowers, they were the 3 in 1 mulching.  They did a satisfactory job on cutting the grass, when you could get the stupid things to run!!!  Be prepared for broken handles and pull strings, broken gas lines, and the pull start piece that is supposed to rewind the line when you pull it- good luck getting it to last more than a few times.  I will not buy a craftsman lawnmower again- I'd rather go out and trim my lawn with scissors than mess with another mower like this!
