Your neighbors will watch in awe from a distance, as you push around this quiet sweeper and your yard magically becomes free of fall/winter debris within seconds. They will wonder how the heck you're doing that so fast, as they push around a rake or noisy, stinky, heavy, gas guzzling lawn mower to get... review »

Pros: It is faster than a manual rake. Decent price. Good for getting the loose stuff up quickly. Cons: Make sure you see this assembled before buying. Any shoddier of construction (materials) and it would have broke up taking out of the box. Brush housing is very thin plastic, leaf catcher bag is also... review »

I bought this on sale a few weeks ago and really put it to the test yesterday!! We have 2 huge oak trees out front, and we share our yard with our townhouse neighbors. 90% of the oak leaves fell this past week plus about 3 days of rain and mist. Read--thick, heavy wet pile of leaves. As I am the main yard clean-up person, I was so glad to get out there with my new sweeper. My neighbor and her husband were using a blower and rake for their half. I used my sweeper for much of ours. I had to go over the small front section many times to fill a yard barrel about 6 times, but it was so much better than... review »

I used this product for the first time yesterday and it worked quite well. We have a large sweeper, also from Sears, which we tow behind a lawn tractor. Unfortunately, the tractor needs repair so this sweeper will have big shoes to fill. Initial use of the product shows promise as it sweeps well but must be adjusted correctly for a combination of ease-of-use and effective sweeping. An evenly cut lawn helps a lot! Should the brushes be set too low you will not be able to push the sweeper. Some time spent tinkering witht the brush height is important and not difficult. Considering I am no novice... review »

It does a decent job of picking up the leaves. The lawn isn't perfect, but for time time I spent pushing the lawn sweeper around (approximately one quarter the time I usually spend raking), it's well worth it. It's great for picking up most of the leaves in the middle of the fall season. I'm sure I'll have to go back and touch up with the rake once all the leaves fall, but it won't take nearly as long this year. It works very well on even ground particularly if the grass is cut evenly as well. I found that I spent a lot of time adjusting the level of the brushes because my lawn is far from perfect.... review »

My Dad had an older Craftsman model lawn sweeper when I was a kid and I remember how cool it was come fall and time to pick-up the maple leafs. Today, with my own house and family, I, too, have continued on the tradition and have owned this model for at least 5 or 6 years now. What a time saver! As others have mentioned, it will not pick up 100% of leaves, grass, and/or small twigs ... but it does get most. I like to use it to go over my lawn after I've mowed it to give it that professional "combed" look. While doing so, it's amazing how much more grass it picks up ... providing you have the... review »

We just recently (about 3 Weeks) got our sweeper. My wife and I both get back aches from raking our 1/2 acre. With the drought we are getting leaves early. I too have nostalgia of using a lawn sweeper as a boy, plus I wanted a solution to all the raking. The sweeper will not actually work well in the treed area due to the ground level being inconsistent. But for my "greenspace" the sweeper has been a godsend. I would reccommend it because of the price. Yes it appears to flimsy construction, but the $100 spent will be recouped with what I save the first time I get to skip a Dr.'s appointment for... review »

I purchased this lawn sweeper to pick up grass clippings from my lawn. I have zoysia grass in the front yard and St. Augustine in the back yard. The lawn sweeper could not even be pushed through the zoysia grass because the wheels are too small and I keep the grass around 3" high. In the backyard, where the St. Augustine grass is cut much shorter, the sweeper did pick up clippings but only with tremendous manual effort needed to push it. The unit is built of cheap materials and could only be considered for the lightest of duties-say picking up fall leaves from a closely cropped lawn or from a sidewalk... review »

For $99, this thing is a bargain. It will not pick up every leaf, but it sure picks up most of them. the leaves have to be dry and not matted down, so if you use it after the leaves have been rained on a few times, and you want a perfectly clear lawn, you'll have to rake afterwards to get the stubborn ones that cling to the grass. I had to experiment with the height adjustment to maximize the leaf pickup. I would guess it gets 90% of the dry fluffy leaves with the first pass. It's easy to push and lightweight, so it's easy to empty. I found that using a tarp and dumping the leaves out onto... review »

...only within reasonable expectations. It's a manual, mechanical sweeper and is a 90-10 (or even 80-20) solution. We don't use ours for grass clippings so I can't speak to that use, but for leaves it greatly decreases the burden of mowing them up in terms of how often you have to empty the mower bag. Like I said though, it's a 90-10 solution. Will it get every last leaf every single time and leave your lawn pristine and cleared of leaves? Of course not. But -- * It's no worse that manual raking in terms of what's left behind. * In two sweeps of my lawn, it's paid for itself compared to two visits... review »

I purchased this model at my local Sears on sale. After getting this product home I realized how big of a waste of money it is and how I had wasted my time. This product is very cheaply made and flimsy. Assembly is not as "Easy" as the box states either. Assembly consists of 8 bolts, 8 nuts, 4 plastic clips, 2 handle pieces, 2 rods to hold the cheap tarp like bag, and the bag. Nothing fits together easily either. Poor craftsmanship. After finally assembling everything I turned right back around and disassembled it. I had pushed it around my family room and realized that if felt this cheap on flat... review »

This sweeper works well, but the bag does fill up quickly, so don`t plan on sweeping 2 acres. Its a tarp type bag, but seeing how it`s only leaves your scooping, it does the job well. I would not recommend it for huge lawns, but when combined with raking, someone of less physical ability can help pick up the leaves with this lawnsweeper. Just lay out a large tarp, pick up the leaves and drive onto the tarp and dump the bag then drag the tarp to the woods or the curb when its full. You have to cut the lawn low to use this sweeper as high grass stops it dead in its tracks. The adjustment does work... review »

This is a very nice product of Craftsman. It is so much better than raking up leaves or even better than using a blower. With this you can control where the leaves go better than you can a blower. It takes a little time to do it and it is a sort of work out but like I said before, better than raking. It doesn't pick up all the leaves but who really cares. Also it picks up pine needles just as well. There's several adjustments on it and is easy to adjust. The assembly isn't that bad either. One issue I have and probably the only one is like everyone else has mentioned is, "It would be nice if the... review »

I've had this model lawn sweeper for over 5 years and every auumn am thankful I bought it. Light and easy to operate, with almost infinite height settings, this sweeper is great for lawns less than an acre in size and not heavily treed. Also fine for larger areas if you're a jock and love an outdoor workout. It is happiest when maintained each season, but will soldier on if you forget one year. Catch capacity is large enough to take a grabber-rake and collection bags along. If any, I'd say its limiters are the bag and bag frame which came apart on my unit one season and tore on another. ... review »
