I did some research before i finally decided on purchasing this welder and i couldn't find a better deal anywhere. Everything about this welder is solid except for the assembly instructions on the stand, which really isn't that big of a deal. The welder does however come with a decent amount of information...

mig welder with cart

i bought this welder after i sold my floor model 220 volt mig welder, because this welder seemed to be perfect for what i do and for it's portablity. the only problem is they did not tell you that you have to buy a regulater with this welder. after checking to find that niether on the box, internet or... read full review »

great buy

first things first i just love the fact that this welder is name brand. in my own opinion name brand says it all and being name brand has never disappointed me in the past befor so i really don't think that it will ever disappoint me. i just love that this welder is on a cart. it just makes everything ten times easier because you get to pull it to where ever you need it to go. i really liked the fact that it was easy to use. it was also very easy to set up. i just hate all those products that are very complicating to put together.

I am a novice welder, I actually taught myself how to weld with this machine, and all I can say is that I love it. 100% reliable, easy to set up and adjust, and the cart is an added bonus. Granted the included welding shield is a joke but aside from that, I absolutely love everything about this welder. I've welded every thing from thin sheet metal to 3/16 plate without any difficulties. The only thing I have yet to test is using it as an acutal MIG without the flux core wire. I bought the regulators but I still need to get a gas bottle. I'll write another review once I get that...

I bought the last one in my area and I'm so glad I did.  All the reviews on Sears.com convinced me that it was a welder worthy of my hard earned cash.  The other reviewers were dead on when they said it was a great welder.  I have never welded in my life and within 30 minutes I was putting down very nice weld beads.  It was such an easy welder to set up and use.  I like that it is set up to run on a 120v/20amp circuit.  It came with almost everything that one might need to weld right out of the box.  It could have come with some gloves and a bit bigger shielding mask but it was already such...

I got lucky and picked this unit up, brand new, for $230 at my local Sears.  Price listed on unit was $475.  I had been looking into a Lincoln or Eastwood of comparable specs, but coulnd't pass this up for the price.  I gave it a 4 star for the welder, not for the overall package.  The cons listed below are for those that will probably end up paying regular price for the complete package.

Pros:  The welder looks very nice and appears to be built solid.  Nice paint job on the unit and the gun and ground clamp appear to be of decent quality.  Unit was made in Italy.  Includes helpful...

If you wan't an on the go unit that can be plugged into a wall socket this is it! If you want a unit that can see heavy use, be lugged around on a cart and use shielding gas this is it!! Well built, simple design that just works. Can operate either MIG or non and works without a hitch. Comes with just the right amount of extras and ready to be plugged in and used out of the box. I would suggest investing in a real helmet and protective gear if you are new and also watch a few videos online to learn some tricks and the basics of welding. Simple mistakes can be dangerous while simple tricks can really...

Pleased

For a 110 volt welder this welder does very well. My first project was welding a roll cage for my classic Bronco. With its' compact size it's easy to move around and can even be carried with you to a project away from the garage I do recommend getting a gas conversion kit for this welder as it does really help this machine reach its' potential

Excellent Welder for the Price

First, yes of course there are better welders out there, but for twice the price...or more. I bought this welder back in 2005, and let me tell you; I have put this thing through it's paces. I've logged HUNDREDS of hours behind the gun of this welder working on classic cars/trucks and other projects. I've rebuilt 2 muscle car's, custom built a truck frame for a 50's truck, welded trailer ramps, and done many other odd jobs with it. It can handle thin metal for the floorpans, and with a flip of the switch, handle the thick metal of a truck frame. I can personally attest to the durabaility of... read full review »

my mom got me this welder for Christmas and ever since i have bin getting better and better. my friend has a professional miller welder and i think the craftsman out performs it by a mile. i have already made a go cart frame and fixed many things around the house. it is very durable, i have dropped the gun many times already and nothing has happened. some people might say to switch to gas but it is good without it. its worth getting some tools along with it like an angle grinder, welding gloves, and a welding helmet. i say this because the mask that it comes with is hand held, but it is easer to... read full review »

Love it, love it, love it.

With my new Craftsman mig welder I can do more fixing-up around the house and in the garden. I will get a lot of work done also on my two trucks and my two cars. Since I love antique vehicle you can imagine how much work they can be. I learned in the meantime how to use the welder and it is very easy. I might even use it for arts and crafts project. That means my friends and family from now on can expect welded birthday- and Christmas gifts. I recommend this welder highly. It's a great buy!

110 volt CRAFTSMAN MIG WELDER

Dollar for dollar a best buy for a mig 110 volt welder. Welds well,is actually made in Italy for "CLARKE" and sold by craftsman. "THE BEST 110 UNIT OUT THERE!" I DID MY HOMEWORK AND IT PAID OFF. But Craftsmen has never let me down in any tool. Would highly recommend. You could buy a cheaper off brand unit that doesn't perform and will have a hard time getting parts for or go with the stand behind you class of CRAFTSMAN. Highly Recommended.

Craftsman Mighty MIG

This unit ROCKS!!! I have used many "professional" series welders in metal sculpture, automotive fabrication, and bike building...mostly 240-480 supply voltages. Those units are not very practicle for home use. This unit has preformed FLAWLESSLY every time, is VERY portable, and user friendly. The smaller sized bottle is economical to refill and overall maintenance is very simple. I wish I had gotten one years ago...best 120 volt unit I've ever used even when compared to the "big guys"!!!!
