Great simple multimeter

I got this for 10 dollars and also the little plug tester thing with a deal about 3 years ago and have loved it!  This thing as done all sorts of things for me from electronics, car repair, house wiring!  I would love a fluke and someday may get one but I knew that when I bought this and for the price...

Didn't work

Everything on this model worked but the 10A range. The fuse was good, but the 10A range connecting was dead, bad circuit, even Craftsman tech support agreed with me. I bought a 2nd one after returning the 1st, same problem. I then tried a better model, the 82344, was sad to discover is too had current...

This has all the best basic functions including beeping continuity testing which is hard to find one a multimeter for cheap. You get great products from Craftsman I would buy another for a gift. As I got this for a Christmas exchange.

Works like a Charm!

I will be honest- I do not know my way around a multimeter as well as I should, however for every purpose that I have found thus far- this has been a great tool with a lot of versatility and functionality. I would fully recommend this to another consumer in need of a good multimeter at a good cost.

I use this multimeter to check household batteries, car batteries, continuity on wiring, and electrical circuits.  This handy little item is something everyone should have and know how to use.

Great Find

Inexpensive and easy to use, what more can you ask for. Even if it only last a year or two it is priced so you can get another and keep working.

The Craftsman Digital multimeter is lightweight and small. It gets the job done and is very affordable.

Good meter

I just bought this meter over the weekend.  I have compared its basic AC/DC voltage settings to a Fluke 179 and it is pretty close to it.  I bought this meter to keep in my video bag for checking batteries in wireless devices.

Broke for no reason.

i had this multimeter and it was working great....i really liked it. i know enough about electricity to use all the features on it. for some unknown reason when testing 120 and 220 power in a fuse box the meter blew up! did not blow the fuses but blew out a resister spring and several lines on the circuit board. dont know it i will get another one..i did like it until it blew up for no good reason.

Hard to go wrong for $10

I just bought my second one of these on black friday. These are great little meters for the homeowner - checking voltage, ohming out connections, and checking resistance. (it does a lot more than that as well) Great rubberized cover and nice probes. Still on the first set of batteries in my first one! I will probably buy a 3rd one sometime for keeping in my RV.

All that, a bag of chips, and a soda

This meter does almost everything the home owner needs for around the house and on the auto. It withstands the heat of the day, being left in a car, being dropped a few times, and still keeps asking for more. There are several different functions this meter can perform and many more I have yet to sink my teeth into. It's very light on the battery and the display is easily legible. This meter stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the more expensive options offered by Fluke and Greenlee. It is surely a crowd pleaser.

This is the first electronic multi-meter I've ever owned that didn't come with a battery. Testing some AA batteries at home, I usually ignore the polarity when I apply the leads. If I connect them backwards normally I just a negative voltage that is still accurate. Just ignore the negative sign. No problem. Not this meter. If you reverse the polarity then correctly apply the leads on the next battery, it will fail to read the voltage. You just get a 1 on the far left. I either have to continue applying the leads backwards or turn to another setting and back. Even my cheap ************** meters... read full review »
