Most Helpful Favorable Review

Bought this because I need to have an easy to use multimeter to learn how to troubleshoot electrical issues and test conductivity.  The display is easy to read and the instructions give enough direction that I  can learn while also getting results.  The auto off feature is handy since I've gotten...

Get out your magnifiying glass

I bought this because it's physical size is closer to the size of my 4 year old craftsman multimeter that just gave out. The first time I used it I knew the display was much smaller than it looked through the packaging. I guess I will have to return it for the bulker meter with the larger display. ...

Craftsman Multimeter works well.

Has way more functions than I know how to use.  It works well, but it would be nice if it came with alligator clips in addition to the probes.

Very Durable Meter

This meter is much more durable than some of the other brands out there. I have used it in many rough situations and it still comes out on top. Its so nice to be able to just toss it in the toolbag and not have to worry about cracking the display ripping off a lead. Great meter

Nice compact multi meter

Nice compact meter.  Have used for 2-3 years without issues.  battery life could be longer, but not bad.  The Red plastic case isn't as flexible as the high end meters but it gets the job done.  I would buy another.

A Great Meter for the Money!

I work for an electronics company where we primarily use Fluke Meters, but I wanted a meter at home, so I bought this meter. Calibration: I have brought the meter to work about every 12 to 18 months to have the calibration department hook it up to their calibration equipment to test its accuracy. Each time the calibration department has tested the meter, based on our ISO Standards, the meter has been in spec, with no internal adjustments ever made. I would recommend this meter to anyone who wants a good auto-ranging meter for use around the home, or for the hobbyist, like a model railroader or... read full review »

Good for casual use

We bought 3 of these meters to use as loaners to co-op students while working with us. The meters were initially fine. They seemed accurate enough for troubleshooting but we didn't use them for collecting test data, just verifying function, etc. The problems arouse with time, the sockets which accept the test leads have begun to fatigue and break off from the internal circuit board with constant use. They have lasted several years so I suppose for the price and if they aren't used on an every day basis they would be fine for home use.

Multimeter

I am an electrician for a fire protection company. (all aspects - installation, service, repair) We deal in all aspects of fire protection, detection and etc. I have had this meter for over 5 years and not had one problem. A couple of battery changes over 5 years is tolerable. I think I got a decent return on my investment considering I am still using the same meter to this day.

A must for Duty Cycle measurement

If you own a Mercedes with Continuous Fuel Injection, then this meter is a must to have in your tool box. Adjusting or checking the Duty Cycle is a breeze with this meter. Easy to use and a great value.

I like it!

The first meter was a dud.....I went back to sears and they replaced it with no problems at all.  This meter is nice for people who can't afford a good reliable Fluke or equivalent.  I bought this thing to read small caps and resistors in the nano and micro range since my big expensive meter does not like these small ranges.  Some people say these meters are not very accurate.  It depends on which one you get.  The first meter was almost two volts off on the VCA readings.  It was better in terms of accuracy in the other ranges....The meter that I got as a replacement is only .5 volts off...

Good all around meter.

I have used the meter to measure voltage, amperage, and ohms so far with no problems. It is a great value and fits well in my tool bag.
