I purchased the Craftsman Platinum 190cc rear bag, key start, self propelled (rear) mower about three weeks ago and am thrilled with its performance. It has done a great job of removing the thatch from my yard and has made it much healthier as we approach the over seeding season. The key start is a great...

I only used this mower once before I realized that it had to be returned. It is significantly heavier than a typical self propelled mower, and that makes it hard to maneuver. Then the rear wheels are constantly locking up when rolling backwards, making it even more difficult to maneuver. Too much... read full review »

I love this mower. Starts with the turn of a key, no fuss there. I put an advanced mulch/bag blade on it and it tears through anything I throw at it. The rear drive is great, will run away from ya if you're not careful. Deck wash works wonders, the deck is nigh spotless. Bagging is quick & easy to do.

The key start is great. The self propelled speed is a bit fast but controllable. The mower does not cut even leaving behind patches taller than the rest even when mowing slowly and overlapping passes. The bag developed a whole in the bottom after one use. The main thing that drives me absolutely mad is that it will not allow you to pull the mower backwards. After releasing the drive control and slightly moving the mower forward the rear drive wheels release allowing you to pull the mower back a bit than they lock up again dragging the wheels across the grass. This purchase did not live up to my...

Cuts clean and has good height adjustments.  Grass bag is easy to remove and unload.  Would prefer a true fold down handle like by previous Craftsman mower.  One half of the handle folds down but to fold all the way then you have to remove the bottom two bolts from the deck. Do like the water connection for clean out. The variable speed was excellent, may catch you off-guard the first time you try  it.

Engine started on first pull.  After charging for a day, the engine did start the first time.  Since it is a rear drive, it is difficult to maneuver.  This is probably due to the rear...

I purchased  this lawnmower 2 years ago due to having had cancer and I was no longer able to start the current lawnmower with a string pull.   At first I thought the price was a little high but now having used it for 2 years, I am glad I bought it.  The key start is awesome, all you have to do is prime the pump nozzle in front of the engine 3 times, hold the lever down on top of the push handle and turn the key.  Awesome!  When you need to stop and pick a limb or etc., stop, let loose of the handle, pickup the limb, toss, and turn the key and it immediately cranks back up.  I am so pleased...

Just bought this mower about a month ago.  Love my old craftsman but needed a new one so thought this would be new and improved.  I like the key start and it's very easy to push forward however it I cannot get it to roll backwards.  You should not have to push forward every time you want to pull backwards and sometimes if you are up against a wall or shed you have no room to push forward to disengage the forward control.  After 3 times of trying to mow the lawn I have decided to return it.

Great Lawnmower!!

After many years of buying the $100 used mowers, I decided to purchase a new one. Went on line and found this mower for $339, saw they had it in stock, then called to make sure, and headed to my local Sears store. The salesman was excellent!! Showed me all the features, and explained all the little details..... I was already set to buy this mower going in, but was even more convinced after speaking with him. The mower is heavier than some, but with the self propelled feature you can hardly tell. The key start is great!! I would recommend this mower!!

Purchased in June, 2010.  Power, speed, traction, starting convenience the best I have ever experienced in 40 years of mowing.  I can't believe that the battery lasts as long as it does between charges (one charge all season, then 48 hour charge before winter storage!).  The key start makes bagging a much easier chore - not a gimmick at all, and makes it easier to talk my wife or daughters into helping.

Warning:  the highest propelled speed is quite brisk!

The engine rpm speed varied up and down slightly during the first use, but since has settled into a constant pitch in subsequent use. ...

Had to return the top dollar top featured Professional Mower because it was built tail heavy, so we exchanged for this unit.  The crew at Sears was really helpful.

The new mower runs perfectly, started right up.  The unit is more balanced the previous model.  If I had to whine about anything, it would be the mower is a little loud, that's what they make Ear Plugs for - whatever.

Am a very happy fat man ;-)

I read other reviews before I purchased this lawn mower and that helped me decide to make the purchase.  With that, I highly recommend purchasing this lawn mower especially if you have a few slopes in your yard with the real propelled the traction is great.  Also, the key start is another awesome feature on this lawn mower no more pulling and pulling to start.  I believe with the smooth cutting it's the best my lawn has ever looked.

The directions do state to carefully pull the handles back in place when getting started to operate the lawn mower.....follow those steps closely because it did...

Who would've ever thought that I'd actually look forward to mowing the yard?!?  The Craftsman Platinum 190cc 22'' Briggs & Stratton Rear Bag Key Start Rear Propelled Lawn Mower is actually fun to use, and it does a fantastic job as well!  I must admit that my previous Craftsman mower almost ALWAYS started on the first pull, but the key start on my new mower is the "cat's meow."  My old one was a manual push mower, so the self-propelled rear wheel drive makes mowing almost effortless.  The bag is larger than before (I believe it's the industry's largest), the see-through "window" lets you know...

This mower is a replacement for my ********** mower that cost 1.5 times as much.  It starts right up and runs well.  It comes with the bag, side chute and mulching capability. I usually let my grass grow too tall before I mow but this mower cuts right through the grass, even if I am cutting 1-2 inches off.  The bag works well and fills nicely before needing to be emptied.  I would have given it a 5 star rating but the speed control is tough to get used to. On the ********** I could set the speed control and then just engage/disengage it as needed. On this mower, you have to hold the lever at...

This is my second mower of this type. I like the mower however, if you live on a hill even as small as 4 feet from roadway to top of slab the mower does not pull well. Going up the hill is more pushing on my part than pulling by the mower. Just will not perform well in thick grass like my St. Augustine. I do not like the mower bag which for some strange reason is open on the inside rear of the bag allowing clippings to get between the inside and outside of the bag making it nearly impossible to remove.

The handle is hard on the hands so I purchase a padded accessory to help with that problem. I...
