Craftsman Pole Saw Attachment —
I bought this pole saw attachment on line to help clean up the mess after the big ice storm we had in mid December. The only problem I had was not understanding that this unit is an attachment-not a complete saw. Thanks to one of these reviews, found out that it is for use with the gas power head for a brush cutter or weed wacker. After a trip to a local Sears to pick up a straight shaft 32cc brush cutter (358-79582), I was in business. The saw performs flawlessly, and I dispatched most of the hanging branches in my back yard and cut a 20 foot apple tree that had fallen over into managable pieces in less than an hour. A couple pieces of advice: The first time starting the motor it tends to stall when accelerated until the oil coats the chain. Make sure the saw bar is orientated vertially with the oiler on top so it will coat the chain correctly. As with any chain saw, think ahead on how the branch will bend when cut to keep the bar from getting caught. Only had to deal with this twice, and the bar pulled right out.
