Craftsman Pole Saw Attachment —
I've used this about 4 or 5 times on my 3 pieces of property.
The property I bought has not been taken care of in YEARS. Branches from the trees growing/lying on the roofs. Small trees growing up against the foundation.
Brush everywhere.
Pros
It's well made.
It comes with a cool little green cover that snaps on and makes it easy to hang up and keep the shaft clean
Cons
I found the chain a little too tight
The oiling system seemed to apply too little oil. (I'd rather waste oil than the ruin the chain or chain bar.)
I used less than half a tank of oil for 4 hours of work.
These are little issues that didn't take more than a few minutes to correct.
The plastic chain guard (used for storage or transporting) doesn't stay on, I used a bungy to hold it on.
All in all, this thing should last for years if taken care of. You can make your yard look like it pro did it!
I've also used this attachment to de-limb and section cut trees I cut down with a chain saw. Easier on the old back!
BE CAREFUL WEAR THE SAFETY GEAR
Don't try to cut the whole thing in one cut. Cut small sections of the branch until you get to where you want it to be.
Think about where the branch is going to fall, or swing...BEFORE YOU CUT
Clear the area after a few cuts so you have some place to move without staggering over debris.
Make sure the chain/bar gets plenty of oil
