I've used this about 4 or 5 times on my 3 pieces of property. The property I bought has not been taken care of in YEARS. Branches from the trees growing/lying on the roofs. Small trees growing up against the foundation. Brush everywhere. Pros It's well made. It comes with a cool little green cover that snaps on and makes it easy to hang up and keep the shaft clean Cons I found the chain a little too tight The oiling system seemed to apply too little oil. (I'd rather waste oil than the ruin the chain or chain bar.) I used less than half a tank of oil for 4 hours of work. These are little issues... review »

I bought this pole saw attachment on line to help clean up the mess after the big ice storm we had in mid December. The only problem I had was not understanding that this unit is an attachment-not a complete saw. Thanks to one of these reviews, found out that it is for use with the gas power head for a brush cutter or weed wacker. After a trip to a local Sears to pick up a straight shaft 32cc brush cutter (358-79582), I was in business. The saw performs flawlessly, and I dispatched most of the hanging branches in my back yard and cut a 20 foot apple tree that had fallen over into managable pieces... review »

I purchased the 33cc Weedwacker & the pole saw attachment. I wish I had bought it a long time ago!!! The blade & chain are very easy to remove and clean/adjust. I haven't had to adjust the oiler from out of the box. Works great for thinning limbs in our 2 dozen pine trees. I've also used it to actually top maple trees of my neighbor. Does a very solid job all the way around. I'd recommend this attachment to anyone, be it for personal or commercal use!!!

I bought this attachment to go with my 32cc straight shaft WeedWacker. This is an excellent attachment. It allows you to trim branches with ease. With the extension boom, you get a really long reach. The saw is very sharp and cuts with ease. With the 32cc engine, you can cut decent size branches very quickly. If you have a lot of trees, this is a handy attachment.

bought this convertible attachment along with the line trimmer (79177). we have a neighoring tree in our pool area in which the branches hang over our pool area. This brach trimmer I used to trim off the excess branches surrounding that tree area. To my surprize, this unit operated very much like a chain saw (other than it has a smaller chain since its not meant to be used with large objects). I was done pruning in about 25 minutes. Very easy to attach convertible boom attachment to my line trimmer and away I went!

I love this! I have so many trees and bushes in my backyard that I have a hard time keeping up with it. I bought this 4 or 5 days ago and have used it 2 times already and have plans to use it more next week. I laughed and said it was a great and bad thing to buy. It worked great, but I cut down a lot of stuff that would have taken me days to cut in just a few hours. Had to stop so I did not over load the garbagemen to bad. I would Recomend this!

THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF BRANCH REMOVAL!! I HAVE HAD A FEW PRUNERS AND THIS ONE IS THE LAST I WILL OWN. OTHERS MUST HAVE THE OILER PUMPED AFTER A FEW LIMBS THIS ONE HAS A AUTOMATIC OILER AND YOU DO NOT HAVE TO STOP FOR NOTHING. I ALSO RECENTLY PURCHESED THE BLADED PRUNER (79248). THE POLE SAW REMOVES ALL LARGE BRANCHES THE BLADE PRUNER TAKES CARE OF ALL THE SMALL ONES. IF YOU HAVE ONE YOU NEED THE OTHER. TOGETHER WITH MY CRAFTSMAN WEEDE EADER THEY HAVE MADE MY PLACE LOOK LIKE A MILLION BUCKS!!!

I have a ton of pine trees with dead branches on them.  my husband had been using a huge chain saw to cut them down, and trying to do it on a ladder is terribly inconvenient.  Now that we have this pole saw attachment, it made the job so easy even I could do it!  It is really good at cutting through thicker branches than I would have thought too, and it makes the job go so much faster!

Perfect attachment. Cuts through limbs and trees like butter. Took down 3 medium sized trees and trimmed all limbs hanging over my property line in 4 hours.

Purchased pole saw for my Craftsmen gas trimmer. What a work horse. Easy to use and QUICK. First use was a little arkward until getting the balance and feel comfortable. It saved a lot of time and effort digging out the ladder and crawling up in a tree. I felt a lot safer standing on solid ground.

I'd say the saw can handle more than 12" branches by cutting from both sides of the branch (the biggest I cut was a little over 12"). The length of the attachment is great at avoiding unsafe situations (crazy people like me balancing on an extension/folding ladder along with a chainsaw to lop off branches too far from the ground). When cutting branches, be sure to be extra careful when judging where and how the branch will fall. It may not fall where or how you think it will! A hard hat would probably be a good purchase and safety glasses are a MUST! Two large mango trees that were in the back... review »

Living on a sizable and well treed lot, this attachment has seen a lot of hard work.  I also use it on my job as well maintaining trees for a few customers.  While I only do tree work for my very best customers as a courtesy to them, this tool gives me the appearance of being much more of an arborist than I am.  I have used this attachment with a rented 40 ft. cherry picker bucket, and with the additional 12 ft. of so of extra reach for more than  52 ft. total, I am comfortable using this tool in spite of my age (mid-60s).  As with any cutting tool, due diligence is warranted, but with...
