Craftsman Professional 1-1/2 hp 6-1/8&#34Jointer/Planer (21705) —

This is the second jointer I've owned and it's better than my first (a Delta, as I recall, around 1996). This machine is sturdy, and was incredibly easy to assemble. I've used it to smooth the edges of rough-sawn lumber and to plane down thick pieces (instead of breaking out the thickness planer - way less noise, and WAY less mess!) and the results were great. I got mine on sale (the bennies just keep coming!) and picked it up at my local Sears stores, and have had no problems with it whatsoever. If you need a good, inexpensive (for the quality) jointer for your home workshop, this has be the one you get.
