The two features that lead me to purchase this model were the lifetime warranty and the easily adjustable float levels. I love being able to adjust the "on" level to my own choice of water height. This allows me to position my water alarm sensor just one inch above the "on" level. I bought this Sears... read full review »

The pededistal pump is OK

The current pump I have has lasted about four years but is now giving me problems. It is not pumping the water anymore. In the past I have had to replace the switch on the pump. During the past four years the pump has worked pretty good as it has pumped water (which I have plenty of) out of my cellar... read full review »

I have been using this pump for quite a few years. It works great and is dependable.

The switch arm being made of plastic presents no problems. I had to replace the switch a few times (contacts burned), but this is a simple job.

My only gripe is that I could not find a replacement spring (for centrifugal switch) for inside the motor when it went bad. But how many people  would attempt doing this sort of thing anyway?

I bought this pump to replace an older mostly plastic sump pump that had seen better days.  Installation was pretty easy even though my only experience in sump pumps was removing the old one.  I was really impressed by the weight and apparent durability of this pump.  Once installed and tested I found that since the pump was so powerful and top heavy that when it would kick on it would twist and rest against my well cover.  This wasn't terrible but the cover is plastic so it would cause a vibration which could be heard throughout the house.  To counteract this I did drive in some screws in...

No more worries

I've only had this pump for a week but my first impression is that this is a great pump that empties the crock in half the time my other pumps do. The only drawbacks are that when it starts up it draws so much power that every light in the house flickers and it is the loudest sump pump I've ever heard, I guess thats the price of having the extra security of a large pump.

pumping water

quite and powerful, very satisfied. i think the switch arm should be made out of metal. plastic will probably break.

performing well

replaced a 1/3 hp with this model that was starting to make a lot of noise. this model was easy to install. only dislike was the wimpy metal guide for the float that i ended up taping to the pump vs using the screw system to attach.

Solid Performer

I installed this sump pump to replacce a Craftsman 1/4 HP pump. The old unit was still working fine but I didn't know how old that unit was and decided I wanted a 1/2 HP. I can't tell you how impressed I am with this pump. I completed the installation including two new sears in-line check valves (I also have battery power back up) just before the June Wisconsin rains where many WI areas flooded. My neighbors on both sides of me had water in their basements/crawl spaces because their sump pumps could not keep up with the volume of water. Not the case with this sump pump. The pump ran every 10-20... read full review »

Craftsman model #30349

I bought this model 10 yrs. ago and never had any problems with it. The only minor repair made was to replace the switch, which I found very simple to do. Recently the switch needed to be replaced again but since it,s 10 yrs. old I decided to replace the sump pump with a new one, even though my sump pump still work fine, with the same model #30349. Contacted 3 Sears stores but had none. Was told I had to wait at least a week for an order to come in. Decided to purchase another brand from another store. Hope I don't regret it. I was completely satisfied with the Craftsman pump and it never failed... read full review »

Retired

I have only had sump installed for about 1 week. I like the ability of being able to adjust the float level height. This feature allows for longer run time with fewer cycles, greater discharge volumn of water. Longer cycle times and fewer starts will be more efficient, since motor start use more electricity when starting up. It is louder then I thought it would be. The metal float rod viberates against the metal guide. I had to insulate between the two metal pieces to deaden the sound. It appears to be a well made sump and I am hoping that it will be very reliable for many years useage. Weakess... read full review »
