Craftsman Professional 10 in. Jobsite Saw —
The reviewer that is displeased really needs another type of saw. Its primary use is a compact TS w. all the extras on board ,to bring on site and for a lower price(if bought on sale). The Hitachi version for example ,is more expensive and has less features.
My main complaint is no Zero clearance TP,no soft start(jumps on start), plastic elevation wheel, lots of slack in the miter bar(Top is not the problem),cheap miter gauge. For best results use a better TK blades, like a Freud and another miter gauge(I use my CM 22124 gauge).
The elevation screw is a lead type(metal) and not a plastic mechanism like on the Bosch, which can break and is expensive.
Use DryLube not oil to lube or paraffin wax. Wax the top often.
The CS by the manuf. is excellent. You can talk to a tech.
I would not buy this for a construction crew and expect it to last long, but if you are not abusive is is an OK saw and can rip 24".
