I love this saw; it does what I want it to do. After reading other reviews, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones with a well set blade and arbor. I get quite accurate cuts and did not have to do any exceptional adjustments. Not sure if I will ever use the router table; I think my stand alone table will be more useful. The motor is holding up well after 6 months of pretty heavy use, including ripping 2x4's. The motor on my last Craftsman got wobbly after 7 years of slight use (but a lot of ripping 3/4 plywood). Replacement motor was $140 so I think this replacement saw was a good choice. ...
read full review »I was pretty nervous about ordering this saw after reading a number of the reviews but a friend of mine has one and highly recommended it so I decided to take a chance when it went on sale.
I am so glad that I did! This saw is very well thought out and is well-built. The alignment is perfect and everything about it functions exactly as it should. It is the perfect solution for my garage workshop. I'm a very experienced woodworker and this saw and router table combo will do everything I need it to.
The only thing I can see I will give up from my big, heavy, hard to store saw is my tenoning jig but...
read full review »I purchased this saw about 6 months ago, and I am loving it. It is extremely durable and very powerful. So far I have had no issues with it and would highly recommend it to anyone. Don't bother buying any other saw. Wait for this one to go on sale and go for it.
First I thought this was great tablesaw with good features. Then I found out my porta-cable router doesn't fit the router table half. Only the most common router out there!! So you need their router to fit this saw. So now I am just going to build a new router table, something I planned on but didn't want to do right now as I didn't have the space. As I got this saw for the space saving design it offered. Second you can't use a daido blade set on this saw. Third, there is no zero clearance insert for it. Craftsman made the saw completely different from the standard that you need to make everything...
read full review »I got this table saw 6 months ago for $399.00 NEW in the box, at the Sears in TerreHaute, IN. I needed a dependable saw that was easy to use, set up and store when not needed. I found it in this saw. I am an occasional wood worker and when I do manage to find time or the need arises I like to have quality dependable tools to get the job done. This one seems to fit the bill for me. I have never used a table saw before and once I go this home found it very easy to set up and assemble with the detailed instructions. I used it the other day to rip (6) 2 X 4 X 8's in half and it melted through...
read full review »This is a Ryobi saw with Craftsman window dressing. Ryobi competes with Black & Decker and other mid-value tool makers. The quality is between ******************** and premium brands like DeWalt, Porter Cable, Bosch, etc. Knowing that, you will enjoy this saw if you don't expect squareness and repeatability or long life. You can, with effort, get squareness, but if your time is worth anything, get a premium saw and get back to work.
The router table has a bolt pattern for my Ryobi router which was nice. However, when milling hard stock with a carbide cutter, there was too much vibration...
read full review »I have a small garage and recently sold a Craftsman table saw to make more room. I still needed a table saw but wanted something that didn't take a lot of room. I started looking a portables because they folded up and could be stored out of the way. I read numerous reviews on this model and decided to buy it. It is great. When I need to cut some wood for a project, I take out the saw. I can be moved very easily. It sets up very quick and makes quick work of my projects. So far I haven't found anything I didn't like about the saw. I also haven't had a chance to use the router table, but that should...
read full review »I cannot make enough positive comments about the quality, precision and overall usefulness of this saw. It needed absolutely no adjustments out of the box, and after 3 months of use, it hasn't required any adjustments. The fence has been great--square every time! I researched saws for a long time before I settled on this one, and I haven't regretted my choice at all. There have been many people who have excluded this saw from their searches, opting for other names like Bosch, Dewalt and Ridgid, and I'm sure those saws are wonderful. Perhaps they're just as accurate. But the craftsman...

It's perfect for small remodelling jobs where I don't want to waste alot of time setting up. The saw cut straight out of the box and I haven't had any issues with it.
I have owned the nearly identical BT3100 table saw for 7 years.
This saw is absolutely 5-stars IF your needs are as follows:
1. Extreme accuracy, and are willing carefully adjust the saw to achieve it
2. Limited storage space
3. Work outdoors, where rustproof all-aluminum construction is a must
4. You do not need fast, high volume cutting.
Try to get it on sale for 25-30% off list price.
This saw shows very poorly in stores. It's set up by random employees, and looks and behaves like 100% junk. However, if your needs are as above it is a hidden gem.
I would say it is a saw...
read full review »I critically read all the reviews to make sure I understood all the opinions before choosing the saw (Model# 21829). I compared all the portable saws to understand the differences (Rigid, Bosch, etc). I choose the Craftsman because of the features, including the router functionality. I don't have a lot of space in my garage so I needed a saw that could cover a variety of tasks and be put away where it wouldn't take up a lot of space. The router function is a big bonus for me and eliminates a separate table from my garage. Reading the negative reviews, I was careful to check the square...
read full review »I've used this saw for 1-1/2 years for doing rehab work. No problems with the performance of the saw. Only issue I have had is the switch broke and the saw runs in the off position. It's a great saw as long as you don't trust the switch. Not really stable enough for ripping large plywood sheets.
