Craftsman Professional 15 amp Corded 7-1/4&... Reviews

This circular saw is very powerful, and cuts smoother than any other Ive used. The only drawback is its fairly heavy. The special features include a light that stays on when in use, and a laser light that can be turned on and off. I dont see the point of a laser light on these as the laser only points to where you are aiming, its not a stationary line. It cant be substituted for a pencil line on whatever you are cutting. But, I didnt pay for the laser light, I paid for the quality of this circular saw. The craftsman professional line can stand up to any other brand out there.

Best circular saw ever!

This is the first power tool I have bought that is not a DeWalt. I needed a new circular saw and decided to buy this craftsman because it has a laser sight and good safety features. It is amazingly powerful, but it is also heavy. The work light is not really necessary, but the laser enhancing glasses work great in bright sunlight. The saw bevels and adjusts nicely and works well with many attachments.

Awesome Saw

This thing is great! Rubber grips feel great - less hand fatigue after long day's work. Powerful 15 amp powerhouse plows through like butter. Ball-bearings ensure long life and quality cuts. Large lock handles easy to use. Large scale for depth settings - easy to read. Large stable aluminum plate. Bright white work light lights up chalk line at blade contact area. Bright red laser beam to see chalk line out front, with free pair of special tinted saftey glasses to brighten laser in bright sun light. Large sturdy case to store everything, and of course a small trac bar for ripping boards with. Nice... read full review »

Heavy, but effective

I really like this circular saw. It is a little heavier than the more expensive 15 amp models, but it is very solid and was significantly cheaper than other brands. I have ripped down a lot of treated lumber, and it has more than enough power to move as fast as you would ever want. I don't use the laser - I've never found them to be accurate on any products, regardless of make.

Great Saw

I bought my self a real Christmas present when I purchase this one. It cuts the wood like butter. The laser works great. What I like about it is how light weight the saw is. It is so much easier to handle than my previous Craftsman saw. My previous saw still works(from 19 years ago), I just wanted an upgrade. I also like the case and Laser Trac goggles. The goggles are design to see the Laser light in the sun light. I only wish the goggles were more durable and reliable. D. Williams Detroit Michigan

Great Saw

This saw works great, bonus accessories make it even more worthwhile. The edge guide works great for ripping lumber. Tough plastic case comes in handy.

GREAT SAW

I received this saw as a gift and it totally blew me away. It is powerful and runs so smooth that it feels as if I am cutting through butter every time I use it. The laser works fine and is good when making longer cuts. Get one it is well worth it.

Just what I needed

So far I've done mainly used the saw to cut block. A 7.25 inch diamond blade cuts very fast and efficient. The laser is easy to see and is a big help in those longer cuts.

Quality saw

First impressions so far are good. Plenty of power for ripping 3/4" thick MDF, my initial reason for purchase. The saw cuts 2-by material like, well, a circular saw. The little worklight feature is nice, but not completely necessary. The laser is as cheesy as the lasers ever are on tools like this (I've never quite seen the need). It's accurate, but like any laser emitting from a tool, the direction it points depends on how well the user is doing the pointing. Depth adjustment is quality -- I'm hoping the cammed clamp holds up over time -- so far, so good. I haven't used it for any miter cuts (I... read full review »

a good saw for the price

i have used it to cut treated lumber for a deck and have ripped 1/2 inch osb both with no problem all the features are nice and the motor has more than enough power the only thing i don't like is its awful heavy other than that i feel its a good buy compared to porta cable@$130 or milwaukee @$130-150 with the same size motor and no work light or laser ?

Good Saw!

I bought this saw to replace and older Skil-brand saw. (What an improvement)!! The laser is a good feature, as is the magnesium base. It comes with a longer cord than you usually get with power tools, so thats nice also. I havent decided if the worklight is necessary yet.. Good power, lightweight, and a good price. Very happy so far!!
