Craftsman Professional 21 in. Walk Behind Mower - CA Model — 

Out of all the lawnmowers that I've owned, This one Model is absolutely the worst. I bought this mower 6 months ago to replace my old mower. I've had nothing but problems. 1. I noticed the wheel covers kept on falling off. At one time, not realizing that the cover fell, I mowed over it on the next pass. I went to the local store and they gave me a new one. 2. the charge on the battery (following the suggested charging instructions) is only good for one start. After the first load having to turn off the motor and re-start, the key start will not work. I would have to resort to the pull start. 3. At first, the pull start was not a problem the mower would start after the first pull. So this was a ritual every weekend where the first start would be the key start and pull cord there after. 4. The last 2 weekends, I had a very difficult time starting. Even the pull cord would not start. I would attempt at least 20 times in frustration and the mower will start when it wants to. I've pulled my shoulder muscles trying to start this mower. 5. Today 11/21/09 Saturday, I dediced to mow the front lawn (dreading the mower, but have to clean my front yard atleast) The mower started after the first pull. I was mowing along and the mower just conked out like it ran out of gas. I filled up the tank before I started. Now the starting saga replays again. 10 pulls, no luck. I openned the filter and clean off the dust. 5 pulls, mower starts. after about 2 passes, engine sputters and shuts down the bag was only half full. I let the mower sit for a couple of minutes and it starts again after another 10 pulls. the mower goes for 2 passes and sputters again. this time, I'm ready to junk this thing but thinking about the $500.00 i spent on this piece of junk. By this time, I had given up on trying to restart, (My shoulder aches). I called the repair center and will be dropping off the mower on Sunday 11/22/099. In the meantime, my front lawn is half mowed. I've had to rake the leaves manually where my old mower used to just suck up the leaves before. I'm vey vey frustrated and am very upset about this product. I will not buy this nor would I recommend this to anyone. this is suppose to be a "PROFESSIONAL" lawn mower. Can anyone imagine having to deal with this while taking care of business. I hope that whatever is the problem with this SEARS CRAFTSMAN PROFESSIONAL "FLAGSHIP" WALK BEHIND REAR WHEEL DRIVE LAWNMOWER" CAN BE FIXED. I used to look forward to my yardwork as I found it therapeutic. Now my blood pressure is up and I am stressed. I am writing this in the Sears website and hopefully it is not ignored by Sears Personnel who screen these reviews. Sears need to have pride with their products. I used to trust Craftsman tools but it seems that through the last few years, the quality has gone down. Everything I've written here is unfortunately true. I was excited to own this mower. Not anymore. I regret buying this thing.
