I purchased the Professional Grade Zero Turn mower. It is made by Bob Cat and this was a selling point for me. However, at 25 house the tension belt spring 'snapped', rendering the mower inoperable. After a long period of delay and rescheduled service I took the mower back to the retail store and they...review »
I purchased a 28875 zero turn mower on March 28 2008. On June 19 after approx. 15 hours of operations, the steering broke. The mower cannot be steered. Though under warranty and I have an extended maintenance agreement, it is taking two weeks to have a service man check the mower. Then, if parts are...review »

Craftsman Professional 26 hp 52 in. Zero Turn... Ratings and Reviews
I wrote a recent review and noticed a person that had installed a set of springs under his seat.
I went to the local lawn mower shop today and The man I knew real well gave me two seat springs from a Grass hopper mower seat.
I came home and removed the pads from the rest plate and used the two springs that fit like they were made for the Professional.
In about an hour I had them installed and it was amazing how much easer the mower rode. I was amazed . Now you Engineers take a look and you will be amazed how it rides, I am so pleased that I just ride around and show it off
Thanks.
I enjoyed reading all the reviews, as of this date, and will vouch for the fact that they are all correct. I am very happy with this mower. I have done professional mowing in the past, and have owned more mowers than I can recall. One thing I've learned is that there will never be one that is "perfect." Some of them get it right on some areas, and some of them get it right on others. This one is definitely not perfect; the seat is too rigid; and the clutch is too low; but when you take into consideration the price I paid, this is the best machine I've ever owned. I'm going to get to work on the...review »
I own two Craftsman Garden tractors and bought a Craftsman professional this spring. I enjoy the o turn so much I do not use my garden tractors to mow.
The professional is so sturdy and well built that it is a pleasure to set in the seat and mow.
I have one thing that I would like to see changed. If you would design a spring type or a cushion seat to help
take the roughness from the ride of the mower, it would be perfect.
I let some of the air from the tires and it helped. It stills has something to be desired as to the smoothness of the ride. I mow 2 acres weekly.
i recintly bought the craftsmem pro. zero turn mower i found that had no springs under the seat witch made it very hard to mow without it beating you to death so i had to put my own on it also its missing a bolt in back i went back to sears and looked at anthor mower it was missing the same bolt it also threw the belt off 4 times i called for service they came out and found the pully is to low causing the belt to miss allighn this has been almost 3 weeks ive been forced to fix my old mower at a cost of 300.00 in parts ann my labor the reason i bought the new mower was to avoid having to do this...review »
I had a 22 HP crafstman lawn tractor and i took me about 6 1/2 hours to mow 2.5 acres. I bought this tractor and mowed the first day 2/3 of my property in 40 minutes. I think my total mowing time will be 1:15 to 1:30. No complaints about the tractor. It is quick. Do not forget to disengage the rods for pushing in the back of the tractor in order for it to move forward or backwards.
I have not used zero turn mowers before but this is one is great. I have close to 3 acres and it cut it in pretty good time even in thick weeded areas. My 3 acres are very rough and with small pot holes and uneven terrain there are minor draw backs. There are no springs on the seat and no pivoting arm for the front wheels. This terrain will beat you to death. I did have one small defect. The spring that tensions the transaxle belt broke, leaving the mower unable to steer. This took about 2 weeks to get the parts and fix. This may seem to be a long time to some but if I had chosen to buy a mower...review »
I HAD BEEN SHOPPING AND TESTING COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL ZERO TURN MOWERS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS WHEN I WENT BACK TO SEARS AND SAW THE NEW '08 PROFESSIONAL MODEL. IT HAD MOST OF THE FEATURES I WAS LOOKING FOR, AT A PRICE SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS THAT I HAD FOUND ELSEWHERE. I COULD NOT PASS IT UP, AND EVEN WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, IT WAS CERTAINLY A BARGAIN. THE MOWER WAS EASY TO ADAPT TO, AND HAS CUT MY MOWING TIME MORE THAN HALF. I LOVE THE HIGH BACK SEAT AND EASY TO REACH CONTROLS. THE ADDED 12VOLT ACCESSORY OUTLET AND THE LARGE TWIN GAS TANKS ARE GREAT--MY ONLY WISH IS THAT THEY HAD ADDED...review »
Since buying this zero-turn I've been waiting patently for the grass to grow so I can cut it. This machine is awesome! It tackles the heavy growth areas at cutting speeds that will stall out my riding mower with freshly sharpened blades. I've done my homework, for the price you can't beat it. This thing is one great grass-cutting machine that's built to last! Nice job Craftsman
When I purchased this tractor, I had never operated a zero turn before. Within a few minutes, I was driving like a champ. Very easy to operate, smooth controls and reponsive to the touch. As good as many more expensive units as far as I am concerned. It has 7gage deck, 26 hp, door to pulleys, lilft seat, twin 8 gal gas tanks- all features that come on much more expensive units. The only negative I have found so far is that the front rollers on the deck make a weird sound when they turn and sound like the engine is falling apart. But, after a little oil, everything was fine. An all around great...review »
It's about time Craftsman as came out with a professional grade zero turn lawn tractor! And much to my delight they did not disappoint. Powered by a 26hp Briggs and Straton engine it knocks out the largest of task in no time. The fact that there is still a residential HOME protection agreement for 3 years makes it all the grander! Thank you CRAFTSMAN!!!
We just purchased this Zero-Turn Tractor and I would highly recommend this tractor. If you are going to purchase a Zero-Turn Tractor do yourself a favor and spend the extra money, this tractor is more than worth the money. Very easy to use and you can cut your lawn in easily half the time of a regular garden tractor. Worth every penny we spent.
This is one of the best mechines that Sears has ever made I like everything about it except you can not grease the mandrels. And I can not understand Sears building a very mechine like this and not make the mandrels greasable. If sears build one that you can grease all the bearing It would be one off the best mechines around for the money
This thing is built to last! It can go 8+ miles per hour and give a good cut at the same time! The deck is very stout (7 gauge) and I agree, it's about time Craftsman came out with a professional-grade mower! And if you doubt the quality, doubt no more. Bobcat actually manufactures it, and Sears sells it for a lot lower markup!
