Craftsman Professional 26302 20-volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Drill/Driver with LED Work Light - Tools Only —
I choose this set to replace my older Craftsman Pro set that I had had for over 5yrs. I compared this set to a comparable RIDGID set both NiCad and Lithium. I found the features of charge time, weight, and battery duration to be much better with this set.
I like the lighter weight of the Lithium batteries in this set and found no loss of power over the charge time of the pack. One battery powered the drill for the day (10hr.) where I installed blinds, drapes, bath finish items, and other misc items where both screws and drilling were required. On another day, I had no problem with drilling for electrical wiring with 8ft 3/4in spring bits through fire brakes and top plates. I was very impressed with the consistent power of this 20v set which I believe is better than my corded drill.
I do concur with another reviewer on the switching from hi to low torque. I found that I had to check the drill before use when switching it - however, my older Craftsman Pro drill had the same issue on occasion. After several days of use, I got used to switching it and had no issues with it.
On the second day of use, I did have occasion to jar the battery loose. However, this was while drilling for electrical wire with an 8ft. spring bit and my hand knocked the release due to tension on the drill bit. I think I would have preferred that the releases be on the sides as in the other Pro series. However, it is a minor issue and I have seen other Lithium sets with the releases in the same location.
