Forget the battery this ones a keeper

OK tried the B&D 36volt timmer and was so disappointed. However, this little spit fire did the job, and then some. Light weight with good reach - easy to start and good balance. The engine had plenty of power to trim and cut my drainage ditch (not a job I was planning but figured I would give this trimmer... read full review »

Bad bump head design

The hassel free head is good for customers that have small areas to get done but if you have a large area to do you need to have a bump head and the design behind this one stinks. They should have stuck with their orginal design from last year because it was much simplier to operate. To wind the line... read full review »

Craftsman Professional 28cc Full Crank Gas... Reviews

Displaying all 7 reviews

The Craftsman Pro 28cc trimmer is a great, lightweight trimmer that is affordable and perfect for my medium size yard with lots of edging.  It starts very easily and I'm so happy about not having to replace awkward string spools anymore - so convenient!

The Craftsman Professional 28cc String Trimmer comes with 2 heads, one a dump and feed and a 2 string fixed head.  The dump and feed head is great for normal work and the thicker .095 inch cuts better at lower RPM than the .065.  The 2 string (4 cutting string) head is great and can cut medium weeds if you go at it slowly or it can blog down.  Changing between the heads is very easy.  I also have a Craftsman 32cc string timmer that has more power.  Increasing the engine size to 32cc while maintaining the noise level of the 28cc would make this a perfect string trimmer.

The trimmer starts...

Worth the Money!

I purchased this trimmer last year and wanted to wait to write a review. I used the Craftsman oil mix with stabilizer and filled up the trimmer last year before putting it up. When I went to start it this year it cranked up on the 3rd crank and stayed running. I'm docking it for the bump head feeder and the solid line head. The bump head feeder is difficut to repair whan a string breaks inside. Keep this in mind about the bump head feeder. I like to use some .065 string and it came with some .095 string. It worked good with that string (.095). I just have a large yard and like to have thinner...

One Powerful Trimmer

I have to say I purchased this item via the website based mainly on the three reviews already here and the reviews on other string trimmers.

I can easily say this is one powerful trimmer! I quickly realized that I really only need to have the throttle at half power because at full power this thing is almost rediculously effective. I use this to do simple trimming of the edge of my lawn and boulevards. At full throttle this trimmer has the potential to rip through thick over-growth without skipping a beat. No wonder Sears titles this a "profesional" series model. I opted to replace the bump-head...

Do not waste your time

I purchased this trimmer on a Wednesday used it on a Thursday and took it back on Friday. It was heavy and hard to start (10 pulls). Was very awkward to use, scalped several areas along my sidewalk really bad. Save your time & money, only buy a STIHL...they are the most superior trimmers in this price category. I cannot complain about our local sears store, they are friendly and refunded my purchase amount with no hassel.

All you can ask for in a trimmer

You can read my reveiw of the Craftsman 33cc Full Crank Gas String Trimmer. It is a piece of junk. This one however runs very smooth, starts easy and is fairly lightweight.
